A piercing scream ripped through the night as Azure struggled from the pain of getting her wings out. It's her 32nd birthday, which means she could either get wings or nothing, along with it will come her full powers. Wings or not, pain always comes with receiving your full powers. They call it the 'becoming'.

What everyone doesn't know is that every single one of them has wings, It's just invisible to ordinary eyes, she had always seen them. She never told anyone what she sees. She hasn't met any spirit fae who have the ability to see it as she does.

Growing up, people had always looked up to her, her parents are the proudest. She had been crowned as the most powerful spirit elemental, one of the rarest abilities. She could heal and see beneath the normal eyes.

Another painful scream was heard, one of the troublesome criminals lurked around the forest, waiting for the right time to kill her. He's with five different people, the others waiting for their leader's signal before springing into action.

One last scream came through before a loud booming sound was heard in the silent forest, a strong light flooding the whole nomad area with it.

The pursuer counted the minutes, signalling his team to get ready. The aftermath of power releasing had always put faes into their weakest. It always drains their energy, making it the perfect time to attack. This is the only chance he'll get to do the job; he would never stand a chance with the girl any other day. Even without her element, she can fight them and win.

It is why she is the most powerful in this nomad forest.

The light faded and they all sprang into action. The faes that came with him attack the people surrounding Azure while he, the leader, went straight to her.

Azure felt their spirits even before they entered the forest to release her wings. She could not read their minds but she always could feel the emotions that come with them.

She locked eyes with the leader, eyes glowing to an azure colour instead of its normal amethyst ones. She held her arms forward, extending them in the direction of the attackers.

The six assailants stopped dead in their tracks, pain masking their faces before they fell on their knees, all of them clutching their chest. Azure's family looked on, horrified.

Screams filled the air, this time, it's not Azure doing it, but she's causing it.

Her family, who all have the spiritual eye, saw the souls of the attackers slowly separate from their bodies until they vanished into thin air.

The bodies dropped on the forest floor at the same time that Azure dropped her hands on her side.

Silence penetrated the forest once again. Her family, who always looked at her with proud gazes, now looked on with fear in their eyes.

Fear. It vibrated through all of her senses as she sucked the energy from around her. It wasn't her fear, it was her family.

'They fear me now' she thought to herself.

She tried to approach them, gauging their reaction. They all backed away from her as she took a step. Azure tilted her head lightly, discerning their emotions.

An energetic spirit bounce onto her radar, turning her gaze on the source, she saw the most colourful soul she'd ever laid eyes on since her birth.

Azure regarded the spirit with curiosity, it took form in front of her, slowly materializing with a body. 'a spiritual body' she thought.

"Hi!" the spirit greeted,

'Who are you?' she thought to it.

"Jessica." Was its short answer.
