"Come here." The second man said, and grabbing my leg, I limped towards him. He looked me up and down, and I just stood, hoping for the best.
"Have you got any weapons on you?" He asked, more calmly now.
"Just a gun, but I dropped it back there." I cried.
"Shh, calm down, it's going to be okay." He said, in a soothing tone. "Come on, get in the car." I smiled at him, thanking him for helping me, and then climbed into the back of the car. I sat on the left side, at the side of the second man, still sobbing. He placed his hand on my leg, obviously trying to be reassuring.

"I'm Rick by the way." He said, meeting my eyes with his "Rick Grimes. This is Daryl" He motioned to the man with the crossbow. He then pointed to the couple in the front of the car. "This is Glenn and Maggie, they're together." They both smiled at me, however looked worried at the same time.
"I'm Serena." I told them, as Rick still looked at me.
"I'm sorry for asking, but what happened to you?" He questioned me.
"It's fine, it all started yesterday morning. There was a group of ten of us, all close knit friends, but one of us, the group leader as you could say, thought it would be a good idea to look for civilisation, to go to Atlanta. We couldn't argue with him because he was... Well, not shy about getting rid of things in his way. So we went to Atlanta with him, but when we got there it was overrun with walkers, and we ran out of ammo fast, when we were in the centre, a big herd of them surrounded us, and tore my friends apart, I managed to get away un hurt, because I climbed into an army tank, and hid until the walkers disappeared. Then I hot wired a car, and drove away, until I ran out of gas, so I ran for cover, and found a minivan." I told them.
"An army tank?" Rick asked me.
"Yeah, there was a dead walker in it though."
Rick smiled, and shook his head. I didn't want to ask what he found funny, so we spent the rest of the car journey in silence. I had no idea where they were taking me, or what they were going to do with me, but I had faith in them, they wouldn't go to this much effort to kill me. Suddenly, Glenn pulled the brakes, and I fell forward with a jolt.
"Crap." Maggie cursed, as she looked out of the windscreen.
"What?" Rick asked, then proceeded to look out of the window. A herd of around 20 walkers approached us, and again, I was helpless.
"Know how to fire a gun?" Daryl said, almost patronisingly. I nodded in reply, as he handed me a rifle.

One by one, we got out of the car, and waited, in silence, for the walkers. My nerves built as they drew closer, I'd just fought a herd of walkers single handedly, I wasn't ready for this. Closer and closer, they approached with painfully slow steps, speeding up one by one as they caught sight of us. Rick and Daryl were in front of all of us, and as the first walker attempted to attack, Rick drove his knife into its skull, blood poured out, coating the knife, preparing it for its next kill. I ran to their defence, shooting three perfect head shots, knocking the walkers out like dominoes. I heard Maggie scream, so I turned around, to see her fumbling with an empty gun, and a walker quickly dragging its self towards her. Glenn ran to the walker, and split its skull open, revealing the gruesome inside of its head, as it fell to the ground. After what seemed like a minute, the walkers were gone, and the road was now a mass grave for the bodies of the infected. The group of us panted in exhaustion, and made our way back to the car...
