Clay

Hey, I wanted to talk about the day at the park, if you want, you can come over today so that we can talk about it? Whenever you're ready.

George

Yeah, I'll come over in 5 minutes. And, I'm sorry about the way I acted at the park yesterday. I should never have run like that.

I meant to text Clay right after I got home, but I ended up taking a shower and going to bed because I was exhausted after that day. I haven't run like that in years. George dragged himself out of bed and into his bathroom to take a short shower and get dressed in his hoodie and pants. George yanked on some socks and pulled some converse sneakers onto his feet, trying to drag out the time as much as he could, as he now felt even more embarrassed at his stupid, stupid reaction, but finally it was time to go next door.

Clay heard 3 sharp knocks on his dark, chocolate brown door. That must be George. So Clay stood up from the living room sofa to go answer his door. "Hi Clay." The short boy attempted to smile as he lifted his hand to scratch his head. "Hi, come in George, I made some cookies and tea for us." Clay could see George glance at the coffee table to find a plate full of choc chip cookies and 2 little teacups with flower patterns on them. George smiled faintly as his gaze shifted over the teacups. "You like the floral pattern? I got that tea set from my grandma before she passed away. Such a strange gift to give to your grandson." Clay shook his head with a laugh, and Georges smile widened at Clay's silly remark. "Anyways, come on in, take a seat." Clay gestured for the brunette to come inside. As they sat down, Clay noticed Georges smile dwindle, as he was probably thinking about yesterday. After all, that is exactly what I called him here to talk about, but I have no idea where to start. "I'm sorry." they both said in unison. "No no, I should be apologizing for running. After all it isn't even my business and I don't know why I reacted like tha-" George spoke fast, as if he wanted to get that over and done with. "She didn't kiss me." Clay blurted out as fast as he can. George looked up at him. He looked relieved. "Well, I mean, as you saw, she tried to, but before she could I kinda, sorta, pushed her back." George continued to smile up at the dirty-blonde haired boy, his little smile spreading into a giant, goofy one. Clay smiled back at him, but George suddenly stopped smiling, but never taking his eyes of Clay's. "Well Umm, anyway." Clay looked away. "I called you here to ask you if you would like to go somewhere again? Just with me, most likely we will be alone. It will be my apology to you, from yesterday." George was hesitant for a second. "But, you shouldn't apologize to me, you did nothing wrong, it wasn't your fault." So is that a no? I knew it. Clay's face dropped "but that doesn't mean that I won't go." The brunette grinned. Clay looked up in disbelief. "So, uhh, are you free tomorrow?" "Yeah, are we going then?" George questioned. "Yep, I can pick you up at 10:30 pm. Be ready by then" "Really Clay? That late? Ok, good thing I trust you." And with that George got up and walked out the front door. That wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be.
