Maybe it was another time. Another place. Another dimension.
It was almost otherworldly. In the way, my soul felt you.

"Maya, come help me us." My grandmother yelled from down the hall.

"Yes ma'am." I say hopping up from my bed quickly.

It was my day off and I chose to sit at home daydreaming about Michael. It's been a few weeks since I last saw him. I just wanna talk to him. Hear his voice again. See how he's doing. But, I'm nervous. What if he thinks I'm some crazy fan? A groupie. He's just so damn handsome. He's so talented. His eyes. His beautiful brown eyes. That smile of his. The most beautiful smile I've ever seen. Why am I so attracted to him? I wanted Tony for so long and now that he's here I realized I didn't like him as much. Especially with meeting Michael. All of that changed. But, do I like Michael is the question now.

I stuff my hands into the pockets of my shorts as I slide my feet across the lamented wooden floor. Down the hallway to the living room. Where my grandmother was carrying groceries in with Tony trailing behind her. I head to the front door and slide my sneakers on. I head over to her car and grab a few bags. I hold on to them tightly as I head back into the house. Into the kitchen. I place the bags on the floor with the rest of them. I head back out of the house to see Tony carrying two cases of water. I grab the last few in the trunk and close it. I head back into the house with Tony walking back out. I drop the bags onto the kitchen floor. I wipe my hands together as if I had dirt on them. I follow behind my grandma and remove the items from the bag. I place the ones for the cabinet on the counter and the fridge and freezer on the table. She likes her things in a certain order and I dare not place something away wrong.

I put the bags inside one bag. I place them in the cabinet under the sink. I wash my hands in the sink and dry them with a paper towel. I toss it in the trash before grabbing a water bottle from the fridge. I twist the cap off and tilt my head back as I bring the bottle towards my lips. I start drinking the water as I see Tony come back from the corner of my eyes. He places his hands on his hips and shakes his head at me. I ignore him and continue drinking. He huffs and taps his foot. I roll my eyes as I bring the bottle back down. I lick my top lip as I'm twisting the cap back on. I snap my head at Tony as I place my hand on my hips.

"Can I help you." I say with an attitude.

"Drinking that water as if you worked hard." He says.

"Not you coming over here with your dragon breath." I say placing my bottle on the table.

He covers his mouth checking his breath. He sucks his teeth at me and shoves my shoulder.

"You play too much."

"You stink. Don't touch me." I say shoving his shoulder back.

"Cut it out." Grandma says sternly.
