The frost bit at her body, consuming her, making her numb. Her eyes are fixed on the two love birds, caught up in their own little trance. The streetlamps twinkle from high above, reflecting onto the priceless stone that now fit perfectly on her finger. She knew this was going to happen, eventually.

Oh, she definitely knew.

She just didn't think it was going to hit her that hard.

She watches from afar, the feeling of emptiness now invading her body. She exhales, the air turning into white mist before her very eyes.

They are hugging now. Holding onto each other so tight, it almost seemed like they are never going to let go - almost.

You know the feeling you get when you've done something wrong and you've just been caught in the act of doing it? The feeling of knowing you are going to be grounded if you take the last chocolate biscuit and blame it on someone else? The feeling of unsureness on weather you should or shouldn't tell your mum a lie so you can get your own way? The feeling of regret once you actually do it and now you're not allowed on your phone or console? Well, that's what Elizabeth felt like at that very moment, the moment when he sunk down onto one knee and looked into her eyes.

It was a stab in the heart.

And she would never forget it.

Elizabeth couldn't help the tears from running down her face. They expressed how she feels clearly to everyone watching.

But that isn't a good thing, is it?

Elizabeth watches the now engaged couple admire the ring together. His eyes glance to his right, catching Elizabeth's sobbing orbs. A pang of guilt runs through his veins, not quite sure whether he made the right decision. The wind begins to blow, messing up his hair that he always fuses over.

Seeing that the damage is done, Elizabeth begins to walk away, alone. His gaze follows her out of the park and into the night. He looks back at his fiance, questioning why he felt so wrong about his decision.

I guess we will never know.
