Tejo's Journey to Independence

Welcoming Happiness

The bell rang and Khushbeer who was drinking his afternoon chai while reading the newspaper put the paper and his chai down. His smile shined the room and why wouldn't it his daughter was finally home. The lost happiness was returning today.
He went to open the door and as soon as he did there stood his child. Taking in the moment he stood there staring his families happiness. The girl who made a place in his heart that no other could take. There was his daughter, the no he longed for, for five years. His eyes filled with tears and as they started to cascade down, Tejo took her hands and wiped them nodding her head in away to tell him not to cry. Khushbeer placed his hands over her's and then putting her into a hug. He felt some from of relief seeing her in front of him. He knew he told her to go live her life, but he was a father and he longed to see his child in front of him. He had four children of his own, but Tejo was the daughter he got years later. She was the one who loved him and his family with her whole heart. It was her who taught this family what unconditional love was and showed him that relationships aren't formed by blood, but from the heart.
Coming out of the hug Tejo bent down taking his blessings. He gave her his blessings and brought her to a standing position and then turned his eyes down to the little girl holding his daughters hand. Seeing them eyeing each other, Tejo crouched down to meet her daughters eyes and told her to take Khushbeer's blessings. Doing as her mother said she bent down and took Khushbeer's blessings. Touching the little girls hens he gave her his blessings and then crouched down himself to meet eye to eye with her. Extending his hand to shake her's he introduced himself as Tejo's father. The little girl looked at her mother's eyes. Reading her daughters face Tejo told her that she was lucky enough to have three father's. The little girl smiled at her mother, being happy for her. As her mother always took care of her and loved her the most. She knew her mother loved everyone, but the love she had for her was the best. Her mother never let her miss her father. Her mother's love was enough for her. Seeing her mother who loved everyone, to get this much love; the love of the fathers Zara was excited for her mother. She smiled at Khushbeer and seeing her smile, he knew that it was because this little girl wanted nothing more then to have people love her mother the way her mother loved everyone. When he saw this he couldn't help, but form tears again; as his daughter finally got some to love her unconditionally. Someone who cared enough to what others to shower her mother with the same love her mother showered on everyone. Looking at his tears she got nervous and said sorry that she didn't know what she did to make him cry. Wiping his tears he told her it was happy tears and he was happy to see her in front of him and see how much she loved her mother. To which Zara smiled. Extending her arms out she told him she loved her mother that much and that her mommy was the best. Khushbeer, took the little girl into his arms, hugging her. He then got up and welcome Abhiraaj and welcomed them inside, but they were stopped by Gurpreet and Beeji.

Gurpreet said that the houses happiness returned after five years and she will enter with all respect. She did her aarti and tried a sacred thread of protection onto Tejo and Zara's wrist. Then, she asked them to come into the house. As Tejo and Zara walked into the house the diya in the house mandir which was unlit, lit up. The luck and happiness of the family had returned. As their feet landed onto the floor of the house Mahi came running basically tackling Tejo who almost lost her balance, if it weren't for Abhiraaj to catch them. Telling Mahi to calm and be careful, Abhiraaj received an eye roll from Mahi. To which he replied that now that she got Tejo she forgot her fiancé. She replied yes and pulled Tejo in for another hug. Then, she turned her eyes to little Zara. Lowering herself to be eye to eye with her, she pulled her into a hug. Zara had spoken to Mahi before on FaceTime and knew her fairly well. Mahi told her it was great to finally meet her face to face. Zara told her it was nice to meet her to. Once, she told her that her eyes saw Amrik and Natasha. Zara smiled and ran towards them yelling Mamu Mami running into Amrik's arms. Amrik picked Zara up and gave her a tight hug. Everyone heard Zara's laughter fill the room. Khushbeer smiled hearing the laughter of a child as there was no better thing that hearing that. Natasha said she was there to, which made Amrik say "yea so what," earning him a hit on his shoulder. Taking Zara out of Amrik's arms Natasha hug her and then Amrik pulled both into a hug. After, a few seconds he pulled away and went to hug Tejo. Natasha followed and hugged her as well. Tejo went in and greeted Bauji. She told Zara to take his blessings. This was all seen by Fateh and Jasmine, smiling to themselves they felt happy that everyone was happy seeing Tejo and that Tejo was getting the love she deserved. They loved hearing how much Zara loved Tejo and how she wants everyone to love her. They entered the house and Fateh and Jasmine went into their room, as they promised Khushbeer that they wouldn't disturb their family moment nor did they want Tejo to feel uncomfortable.

They set and chatted for a while and then Simran, Buzzo, and Candy came. Extending greetings they chatted over chai and juice. The children hit in off well and were playing together. Bauji commented how good he felt having his granddaughter, who brought happiness back into the home. He said he loved seeing the children getting along and how the house was alive with them.

The kids were playing hit and seek and Candy was counting. Zara was looking for a hiding place when she entered Fateh and Jasmine's room. When, she entered she noticed them both in the room. The three looked at each other confused and shocked. Zara got a bit scared as she didn't think anyone was in the room. She also didn't see them come introduce themselves to her and Tejo. It confused her, why they hadn't come meet them. Sensing, her confused and scare Fateh kneeled down telling her it was okay and to not be scared. Zara smiled because Fateh's voice was friendly. Looking at him she extended her hand out introducing herself to him. He took her hand and introduced him to her. The second after Zara looked at Jasmine, who smiled back at her and put her hand out to shake her hand. She also introduced herself. Then Zara asked if she was also her Mami or Masi like Mahi and Natasha were to her and if yes which was she. Smiling at her Jasmine told her that she could call her Masi and that she was her mother's sister. Zara was confused of why her mother's sister was living in this house, but more why she didn't know about her when she knew about her other aunts and uncles. Looking at her Jasmine said that she is Tejo's sister, but she wasn't a good sister so her and Tejo do not speak. Zara looked at her anger because she didn't like people being mean to her mommy. Sensing this, Jasmine smiled at her and told her she was a bad person and that after Tejo left her she realized how mean she was to Tejo. She told her that she missed her sister and wanted nothing more then to become a part of her life again. She also said that she was happy when she heard Zara tell Khushbeer about how much she loved her mother because Tejo deserved only love. Zara's anger went away, when she heard Jasmine say that she also wanted her mother to be loved by everyone. Her mother told her people make mistakes and it takes a lot to apologize. Seeing Jasmine admit she was wrong, Zara knew that she was repenting. Looking at Fateh she asked Fateh who he was and if like Amrik and Abhiraaj he was also her Mama. It scared Fateh hearing Mama from Zara and he widened his eyes. On not receiving an answer Zara asked again, but Fateh couldn't answer her.

What is Fateh to Zara? Mama, Masa, or something else. Candy heard Zara's voice and into the room thinking she may need his help from the Mama and Mami whom he did not seem to like that much. Zara and Candy were sent away to play and were asked to not tell anyone of meeting them. Zara asked Fateh to smile as he looked good smiling and Fateh's heart malted hearing this.
