-Are you crazy, Casey?! - Said the blonde from the call. I tried to defend myself, but she kept talking.-If I were there, I would kill you. This made me laugh, which caused my body to hurt more.-You're an idiot, Ace.-My friend said with a whisper before smiling at me.-So... defending a girl, huh?-I rolled my eyes, knowing what would come.-Do you like her?-Yeah.-I whispered with a smile.-She is. Incredible. And. Maybe. I've fallen for her.-Maybe?-Well. I have.-I saw how my friend smiled enormously through the screen.-But I'm afraid that she doesn't feel the same.-Am I seeing correctly? Is Casey Gardner giving up? You better not be like that for our game because I'll destroy you.-That's impossible, Bueckers. I won't fail again. She was going to keep talking, but a knock on my door interrupted us. I said goodbye to Paige and got up to open it, finding Izzie on the other side, holding a pot of ice cream in her hand.-Movie night?-She asked with a smile.-On Monday? You'll fall asleep as soon as it starts.-She hit my torso with her available hand, and I let her pass. She, standing on tiptoe, reached my cheek with a kiss before entering.A few hours ago, I had been released from the nursery, and since then, I didn't see Izzie due to her cheerleading training.-Did you miss me? -She said, lying on my bed while putting Netflix on my computer.-I haven't even thought of you.-I lied, joking, and she stopped smiling to bite her lip in doubt. I immediately felt bad, so I got closer and put my arm around her shoulder.-It's impossible not to think of you, Izzie.I saw how she lowered her gaze, covering a blush that I could perceive.-Do we start?-She asked with her gaze fixed on the computer, although her voice sounded happy.I nodded and lay face down on the bed, watching Izzie do the same. It wasn't long until I saw Izzie fall asleep. I couldn't help but gawk at seeing her so relaxed. I removed a strand that was getting in the way, and she stirred a bit. I thought she'd wake up however, she continued sleeping. I tried to continue the movie, still, my eyes began to fall, so I decided to put the computer on the floor and place Izzie on the pillow before going to bed, away from her. I was falling asleep until I felt a warm body hug my waist and the girl's head on my chest. I opened my eyes, surprised, I didn't want to wake her up and be scared of our closeness, but it was impossible to separate her from me. Therefore, I left her there and tried to return to my dream. Almost impossible with the nervousness that caught me having the girl above me. I don't know when I fell asleep. I only remember the feeling of our bodies together.I felt gentle caresses on my face that forced me to open my eyes in confusion. I met Izzie, still on me, who had now stopped her caresses to observe me with a smile.-Look! Sleeping Beauty woke up. I was already thinking that you'd miss classes today.-It's just that I'm comfortable with you. I'd love to stay here with you forever.-I replied as I tightened her waist with my arm, and she began her caresses again, this time on my chest.-You're making me hate having to go to class.-Her confession made me think, and I was going to ask if she wanted to stay with me, but my cell phone interrupted me. To my surprise, it was Sharice. Izzie got out of bed after seeing the name and started fixing her clothes. "Damn it, Sharice. She never calls me. Seriously?" I replied.-The headmaster is looking for you, Idiot.-She said, and I made a confused face.-Did you really call me for that? That's all? Couldn't you send me a message? -I asked angrily.-And miss the chance to ruin your moment with Taylor. You bet.She didn't let me continue and cut the call after giving a loud laugh. I blocked my cellphone and placed my sight on Izzie, who was sitting on the end of the bed, fixing her slippers.-I must go to my room for clothes, Newton.-Why don't you wear my clothes? I have a few T-shirts that I don't wear, and I could give you one.-I saw how she turned her face towards me with a smile.-If you do, people will seriously think that we are together.-So what? Do you have a problem with that? Don't you want to be related to a... girl?-I asked, fearing that maybe she had a problem with that. -What?! NO! I mean, no.-She answered hastily.-People can love whoever they want. It's just that. I never had a partner.-She whispered that last, yet, I could hear it. I tried to speak, but the words weren't coming out of my mouth. How was it possible? She's beautiful!- In high school, everyone thought I was weird, and my parents never helped. Then, when I came here, you see what happened.-She made a graceless face and looked at me for a few seconds before giving me a soft smile.-I don't want to be related to you and lose you as a friend.I approached her and sat next to her, giving her my hand to hold.-Anyway, I think my shirts fit you better than me.-She sighed while laughing.-You're impossible, Newton.-She said before getting up and snooping in my closet, looking for a shirt. When she found one, she turned to me, biting her lip nervously, and I understood that she wanted me to close my eyes, so I obeyed.I opened my eyes when I felt a cloth hitting my face and found her wearing a sports shirt that was quite large, although quite cute.-I must go, Newton.-I nodded as I watched her walk to the door. -Thanks. See ya!When I was alone, I allowed myself to scream with excitement. I was so happy and, at the same time, so nervous. I was beginning to realize that my feelings for her increased these last few days and that it was already impossible for me to get her out of my mind. But what if she doesn't feel the same as me? I can't lose her as a friend. She is the best thing that happened to me since I got here. I don't want to ruin that. Moreover, I'm the only person she trusts. I couldn't take that away from her and leave her with nothing again. With those thoughts, I changed and went to the principal's office. When I walked in, I found Nate, looking at me seriously, yet he didn't say anything. I knew he'd not do it in front of the headmaster. I sat in the available seat and listened to what he had to say.-I think it's a shame that the two best athletes of this institution have forgotten the good values. Fighting with each other like two savages. Do you think what you did was correct?-We both looked at him, without talking.-Fine. Since no one wants to speak, then I have no choice but to give my simple punishment. Both will be suspended for the next game.-What?!-We said at the same time.-You can't do that!-He added.-Not because of this. This.-C'mon! say it!.-I provoked him, and he looked at me angrily.-You're really perfect for Izzie. You know? Two bitches together. At this, I approached him, ready to hit him.-Never talk about her, idiot!.Although I couldn't do something due to the interruption of the director, who gaped at us.-See? That's what I refer to! Your attitudes! It is unacceptable! If you continue like this, then I'd have no choice but to suspend you indefinitely.-With Nate, we were going to complain again, but the headmaster prevented us.-Enough! One game, for now. Don't force me to add more.Neither of us spoke, and that prompted the principal to permit us to leave his office. I thought Nate was going to say something to me in the hall, however, he just gripped his backpack tightly and stomped away from me.I tried to take a deep breath, however, I ended up hitting my head, which made my situation worse and increased my pain.I didn't want to go to class, but I couldn't stand in front of the principal's office all day. The idea came quickly to my mind, and I walked to my destination. The silence ruled the court. It was so peaceful, special and lonely. I went to the equipment's closet and picked a ball, testing its consistency and quality, then I returned to the field. As the ball bounced, I felt the tension and pain disappear. I closed my eyes, dribbling the ball between my legs and without opening them, I shot. I simply opened them to see how it entered the net cleanly.* Flashback *-How the fuck do you do that ?!-Paige asked impressed, throwing me the ball again.-I don't know.-I began to move as she exerted her mark on me.-I just feel like I'm one with the ball.I threw without looking, knowing I would score. My view focused on the banners we had hanging."2017 champions"-Soon, there'll be another claiming 2018 champions. I've no doubts. With you on our team, it is impossible to lose.-I looked back at her, hitting her shoulder with affection.-Don't tell the others. But this team would be nothing without all of you. I'm nothing if you're not on the team.-Big bad bug got a bit of a soft spot, huh?I laughed, and this time I was the one who passed her the ball.* End of Flashback *I smiled while looking at the banners of this place. They were so different from Newton. They had much more than our school, however, not as recent as ours. I tried to ignore the memories and focus on playing. I was practising for a while, that I forgot the time.-First day and I find out that my celebrity has been suspended against UCONN.-I heard someone's voice behind me, scaring me. I turned my head to find a big bald man. His brown skin almost gleamed in the lights. I tried to speak to find out who it was, but it was not necessary.-Coach Briggs, at your service. I'll be your coach, at least for this year.-I just nodded and looked at the time on the clock. I'd been practising for hours, surely Izzie and Evan will think I'm dead.-Mmm, nice to meet you. I think I should go. I have to make a... poem.-I said disappointed when I remembered it. I was going to leave until I heard his voice.-I don't expect to create Newton's prodigy team. Nor am I Coach Crowley. But I hope to create a united team that will stand up to anyone without fear. And it is your turn to take your place and guide us.I swallowed hard, not knowing what to say. He smiled at me and went to the closet to get more things, and I took that as a signal to leave. When I was going out, I met Izzie who was agitated, when she saw me she gave a little excited cry and hugged me.-I was worried! I didn't see you anywhere, and I thought maybe something had happened to you. Everything's good?Yeah! I just needed... to think, I guess.-She pulled away from me, though not quite because we were a short distance away. I placed my hand on her waist and felt her hand caress my face. I was hypnotized. Everything was perfect. I just had to close the distance between us. I closed my eyes and crouched down.-You're a fucking idiot!-I listened and opened my eyes scared, thinking that I had done something wrong, however, when I saw Izzie she was just as terrified as I was. I turned my face, finding a furious Sharice.-Couldn't you keep your fists off Nate?! And what good did it do you ?! To fuck a bitch and lose an important match??!She stood in front of me, and I placed Izzie behind my body, looking at Sharice completely serious.-What?! Will you fight me, ace? Do you think I'm afraid of an egocentric like you? Someone who is not interested in the rules? Someone who puts a bitch in front of his team?I snorted gracelessly.-Team? You.However, Izzie's touch on my arm made me look back at her, who shook her head slightly. I sighed and looked at Sharice again.-I have things to do. Sorry for missing the next game. But I won't let a mommy's boy ruin the life of a girl who never did anything to him.I didn't let her continue and walked away with Izzie, who was holding my arm. When we got to my room, she threw herself on the bed, pulling her notebook out of her backpack and writing a few things in it. I tried to see what it was, but her hair prevented me. I smiled and looked for my backpack where I left it, pulling out some papers.I sat at my desk and tried to write down everything I thought would work for the poem. However, nothing occurred to me. When I thought, I had something. It was impossible to explain it and ended up crumpling the paper. After a few tries, I ended up gently banging my head against the table.-I'm-hit.-an-hit.-Idiot.-Hit.-Hey.-I heard Izzie's soft voice saying behind me as her hand caressed my back.-I know it's hard My first poems were also terrible, but then, they get better.-No!-I growled.-I'm stupid. This poem will never come out. I'm not even good at understanding books. And now I have to write?-I know something that can help. But you'll have to wait.I looked at her and nodded. She kissed my head and asked me to watch a programme, to which I agreed. Then she had to leave, and I was alone. I looked at my desk where the sheets were scattered, sighed and concentrated on other subjects. I was about to go to bed when I heard a soft knock on the door. I got up doubtful and opened carefully, trying not to make a noise, finding Izzie.-We must go.-What? -I asked without understanding.-You wanted help, right? You should come with me.-She held out her hand, and I looked at my room, trying to decide. I sighed and turned my gaze to her, taking her hand. She led me through the corridors to the theatre. I was surprised to find it open. It was dimly lit on stage, and there was a circle of young people whispering. When we arrived, I found that I didn't know any of them.-Hi guys. I'm sorry for being late. I was kidnapping this girl.-I saw how everyone's eyes widened in surprise and how two boys began to whisper things to each other.-This was a bad idea.-I whispered to Izzie.-I don't belong here.-Hey! Everything will be fine. They are not that bad. It's just not very common to see a celebrity here.-She gave me one last smile before going back to her group.-Guys! Casey needs our help. He's having trouble writing a poem. Can we... show her ours? That may help her find motivation. They whispered a few things to each other that we could hardly hear and then turned their attention to us again.-Good!-Said one of them. -We'll let your girlfriend stay.-You will be on trial if you want to return. But she's welcome.-Then he gave me a sweet smile and stretched his fist in my direction.-Hmm, I don't know how cool guys greet, so this is my best.I smiled and hit his fist.-Thank you, Gian. Thanks, guys.-Izzie looked at me, biting her lip with a smile and introduced me to the boys. The boy who had accepted me was Gianni. He looked quite skinny and was not very confident. Then one of the girls next to her was named Sophie, who looked quite cute and small, and next to her was a boy, whom Izzie introduced to me as Eli. They weren't many, but they seemed pretty cool. We heard the door open, which scared us. A boy entered hurried and agitated.-Excuse me for being late, guys. I fell asleep.-We heard what he said as he approached us.-Sure.-Gianni spoke.-You were dreaming about the advantages of not being a nerd.-Oh, wait. That's what I dream of.I laughed at his joke, and he looked at me strangely, although he couldn't hold out long before he laughed too. I looked at Izzie, who was looking at me biting her lip. (One day she'll lose his lip from biting it so much).-You're not a nerd.-Said the new boy.-You're just... Gianni.-In conclusion, Gianni and nerd. Nerd and Gianni. They're the same.-replied he.-You're impossible, man.-The boy smiled, and for a second, he focused his eyes on Izzie.-Hey, Izz.-Hi, Logan- He smiled happily and looked up at me, being surprised. -Are you? Are you really?-Casey Gardner? Basketball star? Three times champion with Newton preparatory? And recognized as the future? Yes.-I said confident.-That's me. And you? I don't know you-I felt Izzie's hand holding my arm tightly, but I didn't take my eyes off the boy, who was still smiling.-Just a normal boy named Logan. Who plays basketball too, I guess.-I never realized-Enough sports, guys.-Izzie said and looked at me threateningly before sitting on the circle on the floor.-It's true. We lost valuable time because of Izzie's girlfriend.I almost choked on my saliva hearing that and looked at Izzie, who bit her lip as her cheeks turned red.-We are not. She and I.-Izzie began, although she couldn't find the words to explain it.- Apparently, I'm not her type. I tried, but I still can't get her.-I joked although, knowing it wasn't a joke. She focused her gaze on me quickly.-Really?-She whispered to me in surprise, and I was going to answer, but Gianni interrupted us.-Well! Since we are all here. Nerds and, well, not nerds.-He said, looking at me. We can start. Who wants to be the first?I saw Izzie bite her lip and look around, she opened her mouth to speak, but another girl talked first.-I'll do it- Her poem was about the darkness that she possessed within her. I was intrigued by how she explained it so seriously.-When the night falls. It's not the dark outside that scares me. It's being alone with my thought and the darkness inside of me.They were all left with their mouths open, not knowing what to say, and she returned to her place on the floor with a small smile.-Good.-Gianni said, still stunned.-Who wants. You know.-Me! -Izzie and Logan said at the same time.-Come in first, Logan." Said the girl with a smile.-No! -I said.-You spoke first.-I said, looking at her while stroking her arm. Then I looked at the group.-She'll do it.As expected, no one said anything about it but let her speak. I nodded to her, and she sighed before getting up.-This is not so good. It was just something I wrote a few weeks ago, and for some reason, I wanted to. Just. I'll just say it. "It was thrilling to see you say my name. Not because of the way you said it (with that voice I love so much). Or". I. I can't say it.-Come on, Izzie. You can! -Logan said, and for a moment, I felt angry at the thought that it was about him, but the way she talked made me forget everything.-"Or how you say it. (like it might shatter on your lips). It was thrilling because for a second. I knew I was the only thing on your mind. For a second, I knew I took up as much space in your thoughts as you always do in mine".When she finished, she started biting her lip. Her face was completely red, and for a millisecond, our gazes met, but she quickly took it away. She sat next to me again, without speaking.I heard everyone start clapping.-It was incredible.-Sophie said.-It even makes me want to abandon my darkness for love.Izzie smirked at her joke and focused her gaze on me. This time it was Logan's turn. But I didn't pay attention to him. Apparently, the girl next to me didn't, either.-What did you think of it?-She whispered in my ear, which made my whole body tickle.-Did you like it?-I loved it. Will you tell me for whom?.Again, we heard the applause from the group, and Logan sat down smiling. When everyone finished, Gianni got up again and addressed me.-Now, do you understand? Writing is not difficult. Just focus on something or someone.-This time, he looked at Izzie with a small smile before turning back to me.-And let it all come out of you. Every feeling, pain, love, sadness. Darkness. And you will see how the poem will write itself. We stayed a while longer, in which they told some things about the classes or memories. Then I retired with Izzie, who was clinging to my arm.We were halfway there when an idea popped into my mind.-Come with me.-I said, breaking the silence. She nodded in confusion, and I led her to campus. The darkness tinted the green grass, and the trees, almost without leaves, looked gloomy. However, the atmosphere was relaxing.-Soph would love it.-She said, remembering the girl who had read the poem about darkness. And I nodded.-I feel like Gianni would be scared, though I don't know him.-She smiled and forced me to look at her, taking my hand.-Gianni only goes out at night because we go, otherwise, he would stay in his room thinking that the monsters will eat his brain. Once, we told horror stories, and the next day we saw him looking tired. Turns out he didn't sleep through the night.-I laughed.-I think it was someone else who didn't sleep.-Shut up!-She said, pushing me and running her face so I can't see her.-Let's go! Look at me! Izzie, couldn't you sleep?-I said laughing, as I tried to get her to look at me. At one point, I grabbed her hands and pulled her close to me, getting completely close.-It seems that destiny wants to see us like this.-So we have to.-Who's there?! - We heard a man say and saw how he came running with a flashlight. Instinctively, I took her hand and started to run.We got to my room, totally tired.-Newton. You truly know how to turn on a girl.-She said jokingly, standing on tiptoe to kiss my cheek.-See you tomorrow. She entered her room, and I did the same, smiling. I lay down in my bed, but it was impossible to sleep. Today's memories filled my mind. So I got up, grabbed a piece of paper, and started writing, letting out everything I felt.I don't know when I closed my eyes and stopped writing. But even in my dreams, I could see my muse. I could see Izzie.

Hi! Do you remember me? Haha.

Here's the new chapter so hope you like it. I was preparing classes for my college. That's why I couldn't publish this chapter. But, now I'll be free for a few days!

I know, I know. It's taking too much for them to kiss. But I don't want their characters to date so quickly. I want them to feel and discover more about themselves. This story's not only about Cazzie but how Casey is trying to fit on a new team and learn more about what she likes.

What do you think will happen? Are they going to date? What about Logan? And the team?

Again, hope you like it! I appreciate your reads, likes and comments. Let me know if there's something wrong.

Thanks! And see you soon.
With love, Cucupi.
