{Gaby's P.O.V}
I put on a pair of denim shorts over my black leggings, a pink graphic tee & combat boots. I looked at my reflection in the mirror only to see that my arms have gotten bigger. I hated myself so much. I hated being so fat. No one likes a fat freak; especially when their depressed.
I made my way to room 901 for an ED get-together-group thing. We basically sit in a circle & talk about stuff. All of this has become a mundane lifestyle for me. Like I've been doing this forever.
I knocked on the door only to find one boy sitting there. I looked at the clock to see that I was 8 minutes early. I sat opposite the boy & fiddled with nails which haven't been painted in forever. They were black & severely chipped.
After a while, the 'councillor' arrived, "Where's everyone?" "There's still 5 more minutes. They'll probably be here soon," I spoke.
"So what's the progress report?" She asked the boy. He looked at her & shook his head, "I thought we were supposed to share when everyone was here," I have a feeling this guy's a grew up a goody-two-shoes.
Moments later, a few more people streamed in. Me being totally focused my nails again, didn't pay attention to who or what came in. Could've been Mary Poppins for all I know.
"Alright guys. Let's get the session started," she chirped. Oh joy. "We'll go round the circle & talk about our progress," she clapped, "Mayzie, we'll start with you,"
We went around the circle, listening to everyone talk about their struggles or unbelievable progress. I mean, one guy got a family-out-day or whatever their called & managed to finish half a pizza without a single hint of guilt.
It was almost my turn when Lexie came in & interrupted the session, "Gabriella, can I see you for a minute?" I got up & walked to the door with my boots making a metallic clunk clunk clunk sound with every step I took.
"What's up, doc?" I asked jokingly. "We just received a call. Apparently you have a court date set for next Thursday so we'll give you an out day pass-" I zoned out. An out day? I get to see Demi! Oh gosh. It's been forever since I last saw her. I miss her so much.
I miss her loud cackles. The way her voice sounded whenever she hit the high note in her songs. I missed all our misadventures together. I missed how we used to be before I got sent here.
"And you have be back here by 7," Lexie's voice snapped me out of my daze. "Oh uh sure, no problem," I nodded. "Oh we have a friend of yours on the phone in the office. I think she wants to talk to you," she smiled. I only had one friend who knew I was in rehab so I'm pretty sure I know who's calling.
I ran to the elevator & went down to the lobby. I sprinted to the office & picked up the landline phone on the main desk, "Hello?"
"Well it took you long enough-" "Oh shut up. At least I answered." I panted. "Did you run to the office or something?" She asked. "Yeah," I was out of breath. "Awe that's cute. You miss me," she said in a cute mocking tone. "Nah, I just needed the workout," I sarcastically spoke.
"Oh really now? So you wouldn't mind if I just hung u-" "Demi, don't you fucking dare!" I raised my voice, earning a few stares. "Relax, I would never do such a thing. How's rehab going?" She asked. Crap.
"Oh it's great. I've learnt a lot here. I've um stopped purging & um..." I paused to think of something to continue my lie with. "Gab?" I heard her call on the other line. "I just, don't feel comfortable saying all this in front of a bunch of strangers," I lied.
"I understand," she spoke. I loved how understanding ( & kinda gullible) she was. "How's Buddy?" I asked. "Oh my gosh! He's so adorable! Just the other day, he stood on his hind legs & just oh my gosh- I can't," she was practically fangirling over her dog. Oh how I would love to see her face right now.
