(AHH IT'S BEEN SO LONGGG! I can't apologize enough for literally disappearing for almost a month. I had an awful case of writer's block, but luckily, I'm over it now! Enjoy, my children. ILY <33)
Giyuu was awoken by Mitsuri's very endearing, only sometimes obnoxious, high pitched squealing. The quick tapping of footsteps was the only warning he got before he was hit with a tight hug from behind that lifted him from the couch. He was set down soon after and then hugged from the front by a very excited Mitsuri. Shinobu stood in the doorway, hiding her smile behind her hand. Mitsuri looked up, eyes sparkly and expectant, and then shot off with entirely too many questions for Giyuu to process at once.
"So you got his number? Shinobu told me why, but do you think that was the only reason? I think he cares about you a lot! Do you think he wants to nurture your friendship? Maybe he wants a deeper connection? Ah, this is so wonderful!" Mitsuri beamed, leaning in for one last hug. Giyuu returned it as best he could.
"Mitsuri, I didn't understand any of that."
"Oh, it was nothing, really. You know how I am when it comes to matters of the heart!"
Giyuu opened his mouth in rebuttal, but was interrupted as Shinobu cut in, "Take that how you will, Giyuu. Friendship is a matter of the heart."
Giyuu shut his mouth and gave Mitsuri a closed lip smile, which she returned with about 10x as much enthusiasm as one would see necessary. She seemed to think for a moment and then asked, "Has he texted you yet?"
Giyuu shrugged and then stood in the awkward silence, not entirely ignorant to the stares he was being given by both of his roommates.
"Well, check, you dingus." Shinobu said, her tone level, but the look in her eyes was anticipating.
He pulled out his phone to find that he did, in fact, have a notification.
unknown number: hey
Sanemi's head was a mess.
He didn't know if he should feel worried about a certain someone's eating habits, or if his heart was supposed to be beating as fast as it was over getting that certain someone's phone number. Perhaps it was a mix of both.
He walked slowly back to the group. Kyojuro and Tengen had apparently recovered from their back and forth with Obanai and were back at their dumbass antics. Kyojuro's 21st was coming up, and of course, Tengen and Kyojuro were arguing about what they were going to do. Ultimately, they wanted to do the same thing (get absolutely wasted) but that didn't mean there wasn't a way to argue over it. They ended up agreeing, then moving on the next dumbass idea they had. Sanemi chose to stay out of it and walked over to Obanai, still staring at his phone. Obanai cocked an eyebrow, and all it took was a glance at his face to know he wanted Sanemi to tell him everything that happened.
"I'll tell you when the newlyweds leave. They're gonna be fucking stupid about-"
"Stupid about what?" Tengen was suddenly looming over him. Instead of making a mad grab for Sanemi's phone like he would've anticipated, he stole a glance at the screen.
"No damn way, you got his number? Kyo, come here!" Tengen disappeared for a second, probably to let Kyojuro climb onto his back. By this point, Sanemi had simply accepted that there was no way out of this and stayed silent. Of course, that didn't mean the idea of punishment was shelved. He was already debating on where it would hurt most if he kicked them.
Kyojuro was within sight now, head resting on Tengen's and arms hugging his neck. It took Kyojuro about a split second to put 2 and 2 together. They both started giggling stupidly, which eventually evolved into both of their obnoxiously loud laughs. Tengen was struggling to catch his breath and Kyojuro was still grinning, giggling to himself occasionally.
