Mind broken (Cross Over Fic)

"Who are you and how did you get in!?" Sam yelled as he held his axe at the stranger's neck.

"I told yous that I don't know! I just appeared here after a portal pulls me in!" The man in a white shirt with rolled up sleeves yelled back. "And the names Yancy, how bout yous?"

"Sam and what do you mean a portal pulled you in? What did it look like?" Sam asked.

"it twas all big green and all flame-like, it took some of my friends too" the prisoner replied.

"... Just like the one that appeared in Dreams cell…" Sam whispered to himself, then it hit him that he forgot to keep an eye on Dream and the other guy. " Shit- stay here and don't move or I'll end you-" he said as he panicked to get to Dreams cell.

Yancy stayed there because he didn't want to die and he didn't know how to get out of the prison, but he didn't stay for too long, he ended up following Sam the best he could. Once Sam reached the cell he called out Dream's name but was no response, "nonono come on lower faster god damnit!" Sam yelled in a panic as the lava finally lowered enough to show into the cell "Dream! Are you ok!?" Dream just looked up at him Anti had done the same following every movement Dream did, Dream didn't answer Sam. Sam went across the lava on the bridge and ran to Dream, he gently shook Dream by the shoulders "talk to me! Pls!" He was trying not to panic too much but it wasn't really working "please tell me your ok-" his breathing was heavy, both Dream and Anti nodded at the same time, Sam looked at them scared and backed away from them both, he took his helmet off as he backed against a wall holding his head "it's all a dream,it's just a nightmare Dreams perfectly fine! No one broke in! I'll just wake up and see Dream fine in his cell!" He was denying everything, he started to have a full on panic attack, his body was shaking and he was breathing heavily "pl-please tell me it a-all a dream… pl-please" it was starting to get harder to breathe for him.

Yancy walked up the stairs to the cell and noticed Sam's panic attack, he ran over and got as close as he could "hey! Sam! Are yous alright?" He yelled to get Sam's attention.

Sam looked over at Yancy with a scared look "n-no,i-it's hard t-to breathe-" he replied to Yancy.

"take deep breaths! And count down from 10!" Yancy said.

Sam did exactly that but it wasn't helping much "i-its not working-"

".... Ok, Sam can you name 5 things yous can see?"

Sam looked around "uh, I s-see obsidian… l-lava, my a-armor, Dream- a-and you-"

"ok good, now name 4 things yous can touch"

"my h-helmet, th-the wall- clothes- and my legs…" breathing was getting easier for Sam.

"your doing good, can yous name 3 things yous can hear?" Yancy had known the whole method because some of the newer prisoners would have panic attacks from nightmares or just being in a completely new place.

"yeah, my breathing, your v-voice and the lava-"

"good, now 2 things yous can smell"

"the soot on my armor and Dreams prison outfit" Sam giggled to himself a bit after saying that.

Yancy giggled a bit too "ok, and 1 thing you can taste"

"gunpowder"

Yancy gave him a confused look "yous gonna have to explain that-"

"I'm a creeper hybrid so a can naturally cause an explosive in me to light under stress or other strong negative emotions"

"oh,well how are yous feeling now?"

Sam stood up "much better, thank you Yancy"

"no problem" Yancy smiled.
