.・゜゜・ ・゜゜・.
Sun flashing over the room woke you up. There was dead silence in the house and you stayed in bed for some time, as you were scared of what would happen if you moved even a bit.
Is Diane keeping you here? Was this her plan from the start? Were the feelings never mutual? -Many questions preoccupied your mind and a few tears dropped down your face. Diane was the person you wanted to have it all with. She was the person you would imagine at night while hugging your pillow. But we did have something, didn't we?
I could leave now. I could put my mind to getting out of here, but why would I? Is there really a life after this?
It was not until now that I realized how much I really loved her. Now that she's shown her real face it feels like that person I've known, the person that made me feel safe, was ripped out of my arms forever. Before we even got a chance. I want to explain everything, but my soul is tied up in knots.-You wrote in a little hardcover notebook you found in a drawer next to your bed. It's use was just getting your thoughts out on a paper. You found it easier to cope that way as you were barely able to move around so there wasn't anything better to do anyways. You put the notebook with a couple drops of tears over the writing next to you, before wondering how you'll get out of bed.
All careful tries of you getting down were useless and you ended up just falling on your side and hurting your hip. You crawled up to the door and surprisingly, they weren't even locked. This was a huge house. You were struggling to crawl down a long hallway as you checked what's behind every doors.
The room next to yours was Diane's, you've been there before. Other rooms were just countless guest rooms and useless bathrooms. But one room at the end of the hall was different. On the first look it seemed as though it had more elegant and bigger doors. You somehow stood up on your knees with support of a doorknob and opened the doors. It revealed a big room full of books. Like a small library. You remembered Diane said she worked as a librarian, and as you enjoyed reading yourself this woke up some joy inside you. You'd at least be busy doing something in here.
You lost yourself in books and had no track of time anymore. As you felt a stare on you, you quickly turned and saw Diane at the doorway. She had a soft smile on her face.
-"I see you've found my other universe. I read every book in here."
-"Really!? That's incredible. I love reading but I barely find any time for it."
-"I get that... Do you need help getting back to your room? You can bring the book with you."
-"Yeah... Thanks."-Diane helped you up as you were just sitting on the floor before. She walked you out and got you in bed. Diane was being so gentle and caring every moment, like she wasn't the one who caused the injury in first place.
For some time you were alone in your bed. The notebook from before wasn't there. Where did I put it?-you thought to yourself but in the condition you were in, you wouldn't be able to search for it anyways. Soon you heard a knock on the doors;
-"Honey? I'm making cookies. Would you like to join me?"
-"I-I'd love to!"
Diane smiled and lifted you up. She brought you downstairs and put you on a chair she pulled from her office. It helped you move around the kitchen more easily.
Diane put both yours and hers hair up in a bun. She already prepared the dough, so you and her would just form it into small hearts with a spoon before adding strawberry jam on. You got a bit of jam on your nose, making Diane giggle. Diane and you would occasionally smile at each other. You couldn't help but think how beautiful she looks with her hair up. When you put cookies in the oven, Diane went to the bathroom but as she was leaving a little paper fell out her pocket.You rolled the chair as quickly as you could to check what was on the paper, and turns out it was the paragraph you've written in the morning... How did she even get this? You thought before realizing she added something after it as well;
If I could give you one thing in life,
I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes, only then would you realize how special you are to me.You couldn't believe. If you really mean to her that much, why would she do all this? Your thoughts were blown away by Diane coming back from the bathroom. You quickly put the paper behind your back but Diane didn't seem to notice.
-"When is it gonna be done?"
-"In 15 minutes or so. Are you excited to try them?"
-"Yes! I usually always fail trying to bake something..."
-"Come on, I think you did good today."-Both you and Diane just flashed a smile at each other as Diane continued clearing up the kitchen while you sat in front of the oven, watching the cookies grow.
When they were done, Diane helped you sit at the table;
-"Let's try them at the same time."-Diane said while bringing a cookie to your mouth and you did the same.
-"They taste great!"-you said before shoving the rest of it in your mouth. Diane couldn't help but laugh again, making you laugh as well.
For the rest of the evening you and Diane just chatted. The atmosphere felt warm again.
-"Do you wanna wash up today?"
-"I would but... I have to admit I don't know how. My legs are in too much pain."
-Guilt instantly showed on her face. She tilted her head a little and grabbed your hand;
-"I can help you with it all and don't be embarrassed. You can take some painkillers as well..."
You just nodded as Diane brought the pill. She went to get the bath ready before she brought you to the bathroom in her arms. After helping you get the dirty nightgown off, she took the old bandages off as well. It hurt a bit because of dried up blood but at this point it was more numb. She undid your bra and slid off your panties before putting you in the tub. The water was warm and it smelled nice. Like orchids.
Diane got a purple loofah and rubbed it on your back and chest gently. You were stiff at first but you soon melted under her touch. She massaged the shampoo into your hair before washing it off with warm water. Diane carefully washed your scarred ankles and got you out the bathtub. She helped you put your clothes on and carried you to your room. Diane brushed your hair and dried it off with care before braiding it;
-"Your hair is so pretty, Chloe."
-"What?"
-"I said that your hair is pretty, (y/n)."
-"Oh, I must've heard you wrong. And thanks."-you said before giggling.
-Diane laid you in bed after putting on fresh bandages. After a while, when Diane supposed you were already sleeping, she entered the room. You decided not to react when she sat on the bed next to you. Diane caressed your cheek for a while before placing a soft kiss on your forehead as she whispered;
Goodnight. I love you.
