Sofia the protected

chapter 9

 Sofia's bedroom 6 a.m.

My eyes pop open and I quickly squint. Once my eye readjust, I see that Violet has opened my window.

" Good morning princess Sofia. Are you ready for your first day at CSS?"

"Right. Today's Monday." I smile and quickly hop out of bed, run to my closet, and throw the doors open. I'm so excited for today. I don a white tank top and some navy pants. Quickly I throw on the CSS jacket. It's dark green with two navy stripes running down each sleeve. I put my hair up in a ponytail and I thread a dark green ribbon into it. The ribbon hangs down with my hair and it's about the same length. The ribbon is shiny and complements the jacket nicely.

As I run downstairs, I can smell blueberry muffins.

"Yumm, my favorite."I can just tell today is going to be fantastic.

I enter the dining room and my eyes find the source of the delicious scent. On the table surrounded by silver cutlery and sitting on a green tablecloth is a platter of blueberry muffins.

"Good morning Sofia. How did you sleep? Are you excited for your first day of school?"Mom smiles at me from across the table.

" I slept great, thanks for asking. And I'm so excited. Today is going to be seriously A-mazing."

"I'm glad to hear you're so excited, Sof," James said before stuffing more golden berry pancake in his mouth.

"Princess Sofia, you should be leaving soon as you do not want to be late on the first day."Baileywick steps forward holding his pocket watch.

"Oh thank you Baileywick. I'll just take this for the road then." I grab another blueberry muffin. Amber waves to me and I waved back.

"Later Sof," James says without looking up from his food.

"Have a wonderful day at school honey."Mom turns around to wave at me again.

"I want to hear all about your first day at dinner tonight," Dad says.

"Okay, love you. See you guys later."I say walking backwards waving at my family. I turn around and make my way to the carriage.

Time skip

As the carriage descends, I can feel my excitement grow. The second the carriage lands, I hop out. I take in the brick front of the school seems warm and welcoming and the vines growing up the side of the building are really picturesque. I walk through the big wooden double doors. The first thing I need to do is find the office.

The nearest person is a boy with blonde hair and brown eyes.

"Excuse me, can you tell me where the office is?"

"Oh, this way. I'll walk you."

"Thanks, that would be very helpful."

"No prob," he says sticking his hands in his pockets.

"My name is Sophia. What's your name?"

"My name is Alec. Nice to meet you, Princess Sofia.This way."Alec said motioning with his hand for me to follow him.

"So how long have you been going here?"

" Oh, about 5 years."

"Do you like it here?"

" CSS is the best. You'll love it here."

"I don't doubt that."I smiled at him.

" This is the office."Alec stops in front of a tan wooden door.
