It probably slipped out during conversation. Even if you two weren't public before, this boy can't keep his mouth shut so go figure. By the end of the same day everyone knows, rumor spreads fast after all. While Jack might be mean the rest is pretty nice about it. Simon and Ralph are the ones to approach you asking about what they heard and they are super happy to see you guys finally together (not gonna lie, Ralph kind of ships it-)

If you decide not to tell anyone for some time he'd have such a hard time. He thought he was chill and didn't care if others knew or not but he's quick to discover that it's not true at all. He wants to brag about how lucky he is to everyone. His dad probably knows from the start honestly. If he can tell the others he'll do that in a heartbeat. Everyone saw that coming but they are still happy about it. Piggy and Simon are the most enthusiastic, but some guys from the choir approach you too. I'm not saying that Jack is jealous but he probably is-

He's so shy about it, I swear! And his friends don't make it better, the choir takes the news pretty positively, but their interest flusters him greatly. Roger is the first one to congratulate you two, the rest follows soon after. Even Jack joins, though coldly (shh he's just jealous cause he's older and single, don't mind him). It's only when Maurice makes a teasing comment or two that Simon yet again looks like he's about to get heart palpitations

He wants to tell everyone so, so badly. It's not even about making things public as it is about him boasting about getting a partner. He's more reluctant to do so pre-island but if you want the scenario to take place later - oh boy, he's gonna be obnoxious about it. The guys are a little surprised (he's just not the type to seem interested in relationships) but happy for him. They congratulate you, fully welcoming you into the group

He doesn't have the need to tell anyone so he leaves it up to you. For all he cares he can go from one day telling people you're best friends to holding hands and using pet names the next. It's just not that big of a deal. If it is to you, he doesn't mind. When his friends find out no one is surprised, seeing how fond of you he is. Jack approaches you to tell you, you suit each other which is as awkward of an experience as it sounds, but he's trying

He's literally begging you to let him tell his friends the sECONd you get together. He wants everyone to know and brags as much as he can, much to everyone's dismay. Jokes aside, guys are really happy for you two, Roger even comes up to congratulate you, awkwardly but still
