Russia-1917
~

Y/N have been working at the palace for a few years and have made a few friends. Alina was a short maid with blond hair and bright blue eyes, Boris was a young butler with dark hair and eyes. He didn't talk much. Y/N almost forgotten about their old life in that depressing apartment.

The young maid/butler bonded with Soviet a lot and even the Russian Empire when the guy had time. Though lately, Y/N noticed the civilians are becoming violent and upset about their government or rather to the Russian Empire to the point that Y/N barely sees Soviet anymore.

Karina said that Soviet might be in one of his moods again, but the young butler/maid didn't believe Soviet was having one of his moods. Something is wrong, and they can feel it in their gut.

Y/N heard the doors pounding and the voices of angry civilians outside. In a panic, they ran to the Russian Empire's office, where they saw him doing paperwork like always.

"Sir -"

"I know Y/N, I can hear them out there." Russian Empire cuts them off, he continued, "They're here to rid me of this forsaken world I was brought to."

"You can't go.." Y/N said, their voice filled with sadness and regret.. regret not knowing their master more or regret not getting close with him.

"I remember when you first came.. it was like yesterday you cleaned my office neatly and perfectly. I appreciated you being here Y/N, I do wish I could stay, but they're not going to let me go easily." Russian Empire said. He got up from his seat and looked out the window with a soft smile spread across his face.

Y/N stood next to him, wanting to share a last moment with their master before he went completely. Tears formed and fell against their cheek. The thought of someone they cared about dying today hurts their heart.

Russian Empire looked over at Y/N, and he grabbed their shoulder turned their head to him. "Don't cry when I die. Smile because everyone else you care will still be alive and beside you, and I will always be by your side Y/N." He said, he rested his forehead against the young butler/maid.

After a while, Y/N felt the Russian Empire let go of them, and they heard heavy footsteps coming towards the office. The door flew open, revealing an angry crowd, and Soviet was amongst them.

One civilian yelled out, "Traitor!" And proceeded to shoot Y/N. It took a while for Y/N to realize they've been shot in the stomach, and they were already bleeding.

"Y/N!" Russian Empire was about to run to them but was stopped by Soviet. His son raised a pistol to the Russian Empire's head.

The empire looked at Y/N and frowned. He accepted his fate and would go down by his son's hands. That's when the pistol fired and the sound of a body hitting the ground was what Y/N could only hear before blacking out from blood loss. Feeling cold, they tried to wake up, but nothing happened. Are they... dying..?

Y/N was now walking in abyss, thats when they spotted a familiar figure from afar. They ran towards the figure and saw it was Whirl.

The demon was playing chess by himself. The sad thing was that he was losing to himself. Y/N stared at the demon for a moment before interrupting his game.

Whirl looked up from his game and gave their vessel a smile. "Glad to see you're in one piece still. I thought you'd go crazy after being gone from the real world." He said he went back to playing his game.

"What is happening? Why am I here???" Y/N asked. They sat across Whirl and stared at the chess board.

"History is told as stories of victors and ones who survived. They're told to prevent the samething from happening again. So why not show? You've only been there for a few hours." He answered, not the best answer, but at least he didn't ignore the question.

"Hours??? It was years!" Y/N said, they slammed their fist against the table, making chess pieces fly off the table and land on the dark floor.

"Aww, my chess pieces.." Whirl said with a frown... actually saying that doesn't make sense due to him having no jaw.

"Bring me back to the real world! I need to have a life I need to attend!" Y/N yelled.

Whirl scratched the back of his neck and tilted his head. "But.. don't you like it here? Not having to worry about your real life and getting to know others around you?" He asked. Y/N thought for a moment that they had been less stressed than before and felt more relaxed.

"Let me give you some time to think, here, let me help you." Whirl got up and covered Y/N's dull e/c eyes. Black is all they can see again... until..
