The End of a Day

"Nic?", a soft voice speaks out, just a distance from the Cubix. He approaches the girl with caution, while still in complete disbelief. His eyes locked onto hers, looking at how those light brown eyes reflect the sun. As he comes closer to her, he can't help but just notice the beauty radiating from her face alone. Those glistening eyes, and her spiraling, chocolate brown hair, he couldn't comprehend what he was seeing.

" She's.... She's so beautiful ", he thought to himself. Nic stops just a few feet from her, to which the girl walks up to him. She observes him carefully, to then, she simply hugs him. Nic hesitates, but hugs her back in return. They both let go and take a step back.

"Hi Nic, I'm Elle", she introduces herself to him.

" Hi Nic I'm Elle, wait that's not right ", Nic responds with complete thoughtlessness. Elle giggles a bit, to which Nic comes to realization that he wasn't alone.

" Oh Elle, these are my friends Leo, Barry and Link. Friends, I present you, the girl I have been talking to, Elle."

"Hi Elle", all his friends respond at the same time.

" Hello everyone ", she replies with a grin.

" Now, to show you around", Nic insists. Everyone begins to walk back to the market.

"Is your dimension any different from ours?, asked Leo.

" Well you see...", Elle is then interrupted by the other two boys.

"Do we exist in your dimension?", questioned Barry.

" Is it true you're a lot smarter than Nic?", Link added in. Elle looks at Nic while he just simply laughs in approval.

"Oh that, that I believe she definitely is", Nic responds, while looking at Elle. She smiles and blushes a bit. Everyone continues to walk, making their way through the alleyway. Nic is the last behind everyone, he pauses to look at the Cubix, grinning at it, still shocked that he was able to pull someone through.

" Oh! Question! Ms. Elle?", asks Barry in a silly manner.

"Yes?", Elle responds shyly.

" Okay okay, so I know Nic has been talking to you through text, but how do you respond back to him? "

"Now that is a good question", Leo jumps in. Elle pulls a smart phone shaped object out from her pocket, then she shows it to everyone, passing it around.

" A phone?", asks Link in a bizarre manner. Elle takes the phone back, and she passes her hand over it. The phone lights up, and a sapphire blue hologram emerges from the screen.

"Woah", the three boys reply with widened eyes.

" Who built this?", questioned Leo. Elle looks at him, giving him a smirk.

" No way...you actually built this? Holy shit, talk about a genius." Elle laughs a bit, then, she starts to play with the hologram a bit. She shows them how to type on it, and gives the phone to the boys. They all play with it, and as a result, Nic pulls out his device as it begins to go off from the unnecessary notifications caused by all three boys.

"Wow, you're light-years away from having tech like hers", Barry states.

" Hey, use what the resources give you ", Elle replies.

" What kind of damn resources do you have?", mumbled Link. Elle inspects the device Nic has, to which she is impressed that something analog-like is capable of communicating with people in other dimensions. As the sun falls, everyone was able to return to the market after two miles of walking.
