TWENTY (TEARS 2)

(Alvin drove straight home thinking about how to handle Clara, meanwhile Clara rushed home as well to change from her school uniform, freshen up and get some food for Salome who just woke up. Sandra was at the hospital with her daughter attending to her needs. Alvin who was already at home thinking of what to do, when Clara came in about 15 minutes later)

Alvin: Why are you back home? I thought you said that you wouldn’t come home unless she wakes. Please don’t tell me that my sister is dead. (About to cry)

Clara: No, she is awake.

Alvin: (Surprised and excited) are you serious?

Clara: Yes I am, I was with mum at the hospital when Salome moved her hand and opened her eyes though she haven’t said any word yet. Mum asked me to come back home to freshen up then take some food to the hospital. By the way Alvin, why is it that you are at home?

Alvin: I don’t understand what you mean; can’t I be at home again?

Clara: No that is not what I meant. You ran out of the hospital to God knows where and now I came back home to find you here. How could you just come back home and relax when your sister is fighting for her life at the hospital?

Alvin: Don’t say what you don’t know. It has not been long I came back before you arrived. I was about to freshen up and come down to the hospital.

Clara: Ok. If you say so; by the way where did you rush to when you left the hospital?

Alvin: I went to visit someone

Clara: Anthony I guess?

Alvin: Yes.

Clara: But I thought you claimed not to know him.

Alvin: I don’t know him.

Clara: You are getting me confused; You don’t know him but you just said that you visited him; how possible is that?

Alvin: I asked around, I went back to your school and asked some students what they might have seen. So with some description and directions, I was able to locate him; by the way, why are you asking me these questions?

Clara: Nothing, but were you finally able to find him?

Alvin: Yes I did.

Clara: Thank God, Hope you asked him to stop disturbing my life?

Alvin: Don’t bother yourself, he won’t disturb you girls again. I made sure of that.

Clara: Thank you, Alvin. I appreciate and I know that Salome will also be happy when she hears this. But I think we have to report them to the police.

Alvin: Why?

Clara: I feel that if we don’t do anything about it, then they will continue to harass us, or at least other girls.

Alvin: (Against it because it will automatically expose him but has to pretend) I think that will be good so they can’t harm anyone ever again.

Clara: We have to make a report as soon as possible.

Alvin: Don’t worry, I will handle it; for now let us focus on my sister and making sure that she gets better.

Clara: Yes, I have to be fast so I can go back for mum to come back and freshen up. (She went to the kitchen to prepare food. Alvin went back to his room, lay down on his bed and started thinking of how to handle Clara)

Alvin: (Talking to himself) I think I will have to make use of this opportunity now that nobody is home to interrupt me. This time, my sister will not be there to intercede for her. Then after that, I will figure out a way to frame her up and chase her out of this house.

(Alvin spent about 1 hour in his room before coming out to notice that Clara just finished taking her bath and was still on her towel applying her cream. Alvin then opens the door and enters for Clara forgot to lock the door because she was in a hurry to leave the house)

Clara: (Tries to cover her nakedness) what are you doing here Alvin? Can’t you see that am about to change my clothes? Please can you excuse me?

Alvin: Let’s make this easy for us. All you have to do is to be quiet and succumb.

Clara: (Crying) Alvin please don’t do this to me. I am very tired from taking care of your sister and what you want to use and pay me back is by rapping me. After I cried to you about what Anthony did to me. (Alvin makes a funny face) wait… it was you who sent Anthony and his boy to come and get me?

Alvin: That is a mistake I won’t repeat. They failed me!

Clara: (Still crying) Alvin please your sister is at the hospital, instead of you going to look after her, you are here trying to rape me. This is not fair Alvin…

(She was still talking when Alvin slammed the door and rushes to grab her as the light fade)
