Still at the hospital

(The doctor came out wearing a very long face)

Sandra: Doctor; please tell me that my daughter is still alive.

(Clara was standing behind the doctor with her eyes swollen for she has been crying)

Doctor: She is still alive but not for long.

Alvin: What do you mean by that?

Doctor: We were finally able to bring her back but am afraid that she can’t stay that way for long.

Clara: What are you trying to say, doctor? (She now comes in front of the doctor and joins her family)

Doctor: What I am trying to say is that her heart has failed so she needs the transplant now.

Bernice: How long does she have?

Doctor: Well… give or take; she just has 6 hours left.

Clara: (Tears roll down her chicks) doctor, I am ready; please let us get started.

Doctor: Are you absolute about this?

Clara: Doctor, please we had talked about this.

Doctor: (To  Sandra and Rita) I know you both have already signed the necessary documents but as a friend, I want to ask again; are you sure about this because once it is done, they is no coming back.

Sandra: (With tears in her eyes, she stood up, hugged Clara and kissed her forehead) I will miss you, my daughter. Yes doctor I am ready.

Rita: My daughter… (She could not say anything and broke down in tears)

Alvin: My lovely sister, I am sorry for the way I treated you.

Clara: I know you are and I have already forgiven you.

Alvin: I wish I had gotten the opportunity to know you and make up for my sins (Cries and hugs her tightly which last for about a minute)

Bernice: I guess this is it, we will surely miss you (Hugs her amidst tears)

Clara: I love you all and I am grateful to God for giving me the opportunity of knowing you all and be part of this wonderful family. In addition, please tell my sister that I love her so much and please make sure to look after her. Also, tell her to take very good care of my heart (fall and cries) I will always be with her. Goodbye, see you all in another life.

(She then leaves with the doctor while the rest of her family were all in tears watching as she willingly walks to her death. Alvin cuddles his mother and tries to console her)

Alvin: Mum please stop crying.

Sandra: How can I stop crying? I am the one meant to be saving my daughter’s life and not her sister; a sister she never knew and yet loved her like one. If not for the doctor who said my heart isn’t strong enough for her, I should be the one dying.

Alvin: Mum please get yourself together; she is also my sister and I blame myself for all these. Just because of my selfish desire (cries quietly)

Sandra: What is the need to kill one daughter just to save another?

Bernice: I understand how you feel my dear friend but she volunteered.

Rita: Which is exactly what twins do for themselves.
(Just then, Frank cuts in)

Frank: Hey Rita

Rita: Please Frank let me be, I don’t want to talk to you.

Sandra: What are you doing here Frank?
