Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

The school term had begun once again, and Hermione had them spend most of their free time in the library trying to find whatever they could on Nicholas Flamel. That is, until Hermione appeared with an enormous old book in her hands. "I had you looking in the wrong section. How could I be so stupid?" She stated as she slammed the book onto the table scaring the three boys. "I checked this out weeks ago for a bit of light reading." She said in frustration.

"This is light?" Ron stated in confusion while Cyrus and Harry looked at each other and then Hermione in shock, as the brunette girl looked at Ron with an annoyed look. Hermione opened up the book skimming through it until she found what or in this case, who she was looking for. "Of course, here it is! Nicholas Flamel is the only known maker of the sorcerer's stone." Hermione read in a hushed tone. "The what?" Ron and Harry replied as Cyrus's eyes widen in realization. "Of course! Old Nicky!" Cyrus spoke confusing the three Gryffindors. "I remember now. Nicholas Flamel is an old friend of my grandfather. I've met him on quite a few occasions. I hate that it took me so long to remember him." Cyrus explained as Hermione looked at him in surprise.

"The sorcerer's stone is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It can transform any metal into pure gold and it can produce the elixir of life, which would make the drinker immortal. The only stone currently in existence belongs to old Nicky, a famous alchemist, who is, if I remember correctly, about six hundred and sixty-five years old, give or take." Cyrus stated as they all looked at him with widened eyes. "That must be what fluffy is guarding. That's what's under the trapdoor-- the sorcerer's stone." Cyrus spoke as they all turned to look at each other.

Come the following week they all decided to pay Hagrid a visit which led to them uncovering more about the stone and the fact that many of the Hogwarts teachers had placed obstacles in order to protect the stone from anyone who would dare to steal it. It also turned out that Hagrid had somehow managed to obtain a dragon egg. Which hatched within the following week. Hagrid tried really hard to care for his new baby dragon, named Norbert. But that time was short lived when Malfoy had found out about the dragon.

Worried that Malfoy would tell someone. The four friends acted quickly. Sending a message to Ron's older brother Charlie, who was currently studying dragons in Romania, they managed to convince Hagrid to give up Norbert, albeit begrudgingly. Charlie agreed to help them out, and managed to get his friends to help. Hidden under Harry's Invisibility cloak at night, Harry, Hermione and Cyrus managed to delivery Norbert to Charlie's friends who left as quickly as they arrived, on broomsticks. But as fate would have it, they were caught by Filch, and were brought to Professor McGonagall.

Harry, Cyrus, Hermione, and Malfoy (who had tried to catch them in the act but was caught by Professor McGonagall) stood in front of Professor McGonagall, who was fuming. "Nothing, I repeat, nothing gives a student the right to walk about the school at night. Though Cyrus, I'll make an exception for you. Therefore, as punishment for you actions, 50 points will be taken." Professor McGonagall stated. "Fifty?" Harry questioned. "Each." Minerva continued. "And to ensure it doesn't happen again, all three-"

"Professor, If I may. I take full responsibility for my actions, and think its only fair that I receive part of the punishment." Cyrus stated as everyone turned to look at him in shock. "Are you sure about that Cyrus?" McGonagall asked the young Slytherin, who turned to look at his two friends. "Yes, I am." Cyrus said with a nod. "Very well then. In that case, all four of you will receive detention."
