Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, 1991. First Year, Charm's Class, Halloween.

It was early in the afternoon, when our four friends were attending their charms class, with Professor Filius Flitwick; a remarkably short man, Head of Ravenclaw House and Charms teacher at Hogwarts. But don't let his short stature fool you, this wizard is described to be the best and most knowledgeable Charms master alive in the world today. "One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is Levitation... or the ability to make objects fly." Flitwick explained. "Uh, do you all have your feathers?" The short man asked as Hermione grabbed the large white feather in front of her and raised it up.

"Good. Now, uh, don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practicing, hmm? The Swish and Flick." Professor Flitwick said demonstrating the wand motion. "Everyone." He called out as everyone picked up their wands and copied the simple wand motion as everyone repeated. "The Swish and Flick."

"Good. Oh, and enunciate. Wingardium Leviosa. Off you go, then."

Everyone, except Cyrus, began chanting and repeating the spell while doing the instructed hand motion, but none were able to make their feathers float. "Wingardium Leviosar." Ron chanted as he began waving his wand back and forth like a mad man, while Hermione, who sat on his left, and Cyrus, who sat on his right, flinched and scooted away a bit as to not get hit by his wand or by the spell backfiring. "No, stop, stop, stop." Hermione said as she and Cyrus stopped him. "You're going to take someone's eyes out." She stated. "Probably one of mine." Cyrus commented. "Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's LEVI-OSA... not LEVIO-SAR." Hermione said correcting the ginger boy.

"You do it, then, if you're so clever. Go on. Go on." Ron said sassily, as Hermione took out her wand, placing it just above the feather. "Wingardium Leviosa." Hermione chanted as she did the instructed hand motions with her wand. Then slowly raising her hand upward, the feather began to float up into the air as the room grew silent and everyone watched. "Oh, well done! See here, everyone. Miss Granger's done it! Oh splendid!" Filius said praisingly. Then Seamus, who was sitting between Harry and Cyrus began chanting the spell incorrectly, as Cyrus slowly leaned away from him when, BOOM! In a flash of light Seamus had made the feather explode. Covering himself in dirt and his hair a mess as everyone turned their attention to him. "I think we're going to need another feather over here, Professor." Harry stated as the left side of his face got slightly dirty from the explosion. "Why do I get the feeling, that this is going to be a recurring thing, with you Seamus?" Cyrus questioned, looking over at the Gryffindor boy.

The rest of class went on with out a hitch, as everyone walked out and towards their next classes. "It's LEVI-OSA, not LEVIO-SAR." Ron said mockingly towards Harry, Cyrus, Seamus, and Dean as they made their way through the Hogwarts grounds. "She's a nightmare, honestly. No wonder she hasn't got any friends." Ron said as Hermione pushed passed them making the boys stop walking. "I think she heard you." Harry stated as Cyrus's face showed a hint of guilt and anger. "You know, Ron, for a nice guy, you can be such an ass." Cyrus said as he left the Gryffindor boys and chased after Hermione. Harry looked on feeling a slight bit of guilt in his chest as he watched Cyrus run after Hermione.

Great Hall, Halloween Night.

Floating Jack-o-lanterns in the air, everyone was enjoying their Halloween feast, as the tables were filled with pumpkin pies, apples, and other delicious looking candies and sweets. Everyone was digging in. Everyone except for Harry. The bespectacled boy look beside him as the spot were Hermione usual sat remained empty. He then looked over to the Slytherin table, only to see that Cyrus wasn't there. "Where's Hermione?" Harry asked as Neville turned to him. "Parvati Patil said that she wouldn't come out of the girls' bathroom. She said that she'd been in there all afternoon crying. And that Cyrus had been sitting outside waiting for her." Neville whispered as Harry turned to Ron with a somewhat upset looking expression, only for the ginger to shrug in response.
