When Adam opened his eyes and took in the first few breathes on his own, he was on his side, one arm underneath his head to support himself. He got up, breathing in that air and looking at the lush greenery that stretched out before him.

His bare feet was cushioned by soft little green things underneath him, the bigger green things on the arms of the tall, firm brown structures, were gentle on his arms as he brushed pass them as he walked.

He heard musical, soft noises that made him curious, looking up at the blue sky above him to see little dark shadows flitting around. He was lead into a clearing, and he started to see other things of different colours, things that moved and walked like him, looking at him just as interestedly while they all gathered around a single being sitting at the very center.

"Adam. The First Man." A being lifted their head, and smiled at him. That was the first smile that Adam ever saw. There was a connection almost instantly. The being looked like him too, dark coffee brown skin and a thick shear of shoulder-length curly hair, long limbs and slender fingers that were gently stroking a little animal's fur as it lay over their lap.

"Who are you?" He asked in the same language as the being, the same language as the other being who shaped him from the earth. "We're not certain yet, but you may call me Eden." They said, reaching up another arm gracefully and extending towards a big, gray animal's long, long nose, stroking it too.

He was drawn towards them, like the gathering of the other animals, and slowly stepped forward. There was large wings on their back, a striking white with hints of faint blue. It looked like the ones that allowed those smaller animals with sharp mouths to rise up into the air and fly.

"What are you?" Adam asked again, as he sank to his knees close to the being, amongst the other animals asking for the being's attention. "I am your guardian angel. Not yours- in particular. All of Your guardian angels." They said, lifting their head again to smile at the gathered crowd affectionately. The animal over their lap made a rumbling sound from their chest and stood up on its legs to lick at their chin.

"You remember the angels and the Lord who made you." Eden turned back to Adam, and their eyes were the only thing that made them look different. Eden's eyes were a swirl of green and blue, glowing warmly. "I am a special type of angel, one meant to protect you, and guide you on the path that awaits you."

Adam remembered the other figures with similar, white wings as Eden, their hands were soft, gently shaping his arms and legs and torso, but he didn't remember their faces. He looked at Eden again, who picked themself up and stood to greet a spotty animal with a long neck as it emerged from the trees, wings flapping gently behind them, extending a hand to touch its face when it bowed down, still smiling with a warmth that he didn't seem to remember from the other angels.

"Now Adam," Eden spoke to him again as he settled back down on the grass, the tall spotty animal finding a spot in the crowd of other animals. "I know it's your first day being alive, but the Lord has asked me to assist you to do a very important job for Her." He nodded slowly, staring in fascination as the angel drew out a long scroll of paper and a reed with black ink at the tip from out of nowhere, and with deft motions, began unrolling the scroll.

"I would like to help you name all the animals here. They have no names like you yet." They said gently. Adam looked at the crowd, and found the animals looking at him expectedly too.
