Kristen had been watching from her spot in the void when a certain little mooshroom caught her eye.
It was in the middle of the DreamSMP, a land owned by a relative of her friend, DreamXD. She had originally watched a span of other large areas, but when her husband moved to the SMP, she followed with him, keeping a wary eye on him. He only had one life, after all.
It was mostly a plains biome, with spruce surrounding it on 3 sides. The other side? A large lake leading out to an ocean. And that ocean? Well, it was almost completely bare, spare a border that wrapped around and into the large water source before fleeting back. But even from there, mushroom wasn't visible.
Even expanding her vision out millions upon millions of meters, not a single mushroom island was visible from the sky.
Which was exactly why she flew herself out from the underworld all the way down to that small wooden path in the flat land to greet the bright red cow.
"Hello there, little one! How did you manage to find yourself all the way out here? Your home is nowhere near here!" Landing softly, Kristen bent over to make eye contact with the farm animal. Her large form left a large shadow over it, but it didn't seem too scared, much to her happiness.
It fell over anyway, scrambling to make itself stand straighter. It bowing, Kristen laughed out.
"Would you look at that! You don't have to bow little one. I don't even know how you know what that is!" Petting it's furry head, Kristen scooped it up into her palm.
The cow suddenly transformed into a little crow, flying off of her hand and perching on her hat, nuzzling it. With a chuckle, Kristen placed a finger on the rim of her bucket hat, letting the strange crow perch on her finger.
"Well well well, it seems I found the reason why you're stranded in the middle of nowhere, little cow. You're a shapeshifter." Sitting down on the edge of the hill, Kristen reached out her other hand to boop the bird's beak. "Naughty naughty shapeshifter."
"Now, let's head off together, shall we? I have many things to show you, tiny one." Soaring into the sky, the crow morphed into a bright red tabby cat, holding onto Kristens finger with their life.
Looking down, the view was incredible.
You could see almost everything from Tommy's exile all the way to the forest that held the ruins of Pogtopia.
All the little tents from Logstedshire, Purpled's UFO, a little space in the trees where a small path had been carved out, Eret's Museum, the White House, George's ruined house, the beginnings of New L'Manberg, Mexican L'Manberg, Karl's area, Niki's bakery, and The Greater DreamSMP were all visible. Even the old Blood God Technoblade's house was visible from here, although being blurry.
The cat morphed into a simple cardinal, flying a few feet away from the god to take in everything, and then, all of a sudden,
Kristen could see a mirror image of herself; she was flying right where the bird had just been.
Her voice rang out through the air.
"Thank you so much, Angel of Death. This view is amazing, and it was an honor to meet you, even if it was just because you were curious on why I was grazing in Tommy's old pasture." Her copy looked to the side sheepishly, embarrassed.
"Oh please, dear. Call me Kristen. If you ever need me, don't hesitate to call out my name, little one!" She smiled, her form starting to disappear. "I'm only one word away. This was an interesting experience for me, too. I've never met any shapeshifters in person. Well, real shapeshifters." She laughed, a memory of DreamXD changing his reflection to look like her husband playing through her head.
"Alright. Thank you, Kristen. I need to get back now, so." She pointed down to the ground, around where she had been a few minutes prior. "My name's Ava."
As Kristens body slowly disappeared, she gave Ava a wave, smiling widely.
Ava waved back.

I had this idea in the middle of math and I really wanted to write about it, but it wouldn't play out well in the plot of Lanterns. :(
I also really wanted Ava to meet DreamXD in this, but I can just write a followup where he DOES meet Ava. It's a one-shot, after all. :))))
