Another important boy in this story is Ezra. Ezra was born in a pure blooded dragon family. Bloodlines aren't that important to the other humanal species but dragons still seem to care about it. Especially Ezra's family. His family was very large and arranged marriages were common. His parents were the result of this. They both didn't get to marry the one they truly loved and that might be why he grew up in a household full of pain and anger.
His father Jerimaiha Wyvern was a hard working man who was often rude and disrespectful to his wife Helena (Nockrest). Their first child was entirely planned. They gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who they called Aurora. But Jerimaiha was a terrible father right from the start. He didn't take any responsibility and left his wife to do everything on her own. And then he would even have the audacity to get mad when she made the tiniest mistake. Jerimaiha was a strong intimidating man. He had long blonde hair flowing over his shoulders and piercing blue eyes. Now you may think that long hair isn't manly at all, but in dragon culture it is. To dragons healthy long hair is seen as a sign of wealth and nobility in both women and men. But it didn't really add to his looks. Helena would often get scared whenever he got mad which is the only reason she put up with his bullshit.
Two years later Helena got pregnant again, though this time it wasn't that planned. Jerimaiha of course blamed it all on her. He didn't want a second kid. He didn't even want to take care of the one he had right now let alone another one. He got unbelievably mad at her, since it was already to late to get an abortion at that point. He got so mad at her in fact that he slapped her clean across the face. Something that would become more common from this point on.
When their second child was born they named him Ezra. But Ezra wasn't like his sister. He "decided" (which is how Jerimaiha saw it) to cause problems right from the get go. Little Ez was born a little over a month to early. Because of this he was required to stay in the hospital a little longer then planned. Jerimaiha was immediately annoyed by this, he started to grow hate for the boy about something that was out of everyones control. When Ezra finally got home he started getting even more annoying. For example: Aurora almost never cried when she was a kid. She had been a quite little girl from the very start. Ezra on the other hand couldn't stop crying. He would start crying for no reason at all and then just keep going for hours on end. This drove Jerimaiha mad. He started straight up abusing his wife for being unable to shut the kid up. He made her believe it was all her fault and that she was also the reason their once ok-ish marriage was falling apart. But later on he started blaming someone else.
As soon as Ezra could walk he started wrecking shit. He couldn't control his magic like his sister could and since dragons specialise in fire magic his mistakes could lead to very bad outcomes. Though at some point it really went south. It got to a point where Ezra had burned a framed picture of Jerimaiha's family that was hanging on the wall above the fire place. Jerimaiha hit his four year old across the face, and when Ezra started crying he hit him again. "Boys don't cry!" He yelled loudly. As he hit his son a third time. Helena came rushing into the living room to stop what was going on but her husband just hit her across the face too. Meanwhile Aury (which is Aurora's nickname) had been watching this horrible episode of life from the corner of the room. That day is when it all turned to shit.
After Ezra's grandparents, the only people that had ever truly loved him died. There was no where he could escape to. But he didn't cry. He was only six but he didn't cry. I mean if he did he would have to deal with the consequences. He never cried again after this. It was like he was physically unable to. What a cruel life he had to live. What a sad story.
