"You don't think that was a little too harsh?"
"Easy for you to say! No one else is going to do anything about this."
"You might be right, but she is stubborn and nothing you say is going to make her change her mind." Thomas groans and wanders off.
Your POV
I spot a tree where there arent any Gladers near it and sit beside it crying my eyes out. I hear footsteps approaching, "Y/N?"
I cover my face and tell him to go away, "Just leave me alone Thomas!"
"Thomas?" I look up at him to see it is Newt, "A-are you crying?" He asks lifting my face.
"Look, I don't need you seeing me cry, just go away."
"Now that, I will not do," he replies sitting right in front of me.
It is getting dark and I figured he would just leave but he still hasn't, "Why are you still here?"
"I gotta earn your trust right? Plus, us Gladers got to stick together."
"Well, I heard that we are going to vote for a runner, but Thomas isn't going to vote for me."
"Yeah, I saw that little fight you had with Tommy back there. Do you want me to talk to him?"
"No!"
"You know he cares about you a lot right? You might not see it right now but he is trying to protect you." He grins at me and I wipe my eyes, turning to look behind me. Gladers are making their way toward the bonfire, "Ok time to vote," he states helping me up, "then we get some rest."
3rd POV
They walk over to the crowd and Newt tries to get you to talk to Thomas but you quickly turn and face Chuck. You strike up a conversation and Newt leaves, sitting beside Thomas. He tries to lighten up the mood but he just gives a black look.

We form a circle around Alby and I see Thomas staring at the fire while biting his nails.
"For those of you who don't know, all 61 of us will be voting among three people. Gally, Y/N, and Newt, now all those in favour for Gally?"
16 people raise their hands.
"Newt?"
22 people raise their hands, including Thomas.
"Y/N?"
22 people raise their hands along with Alby, "So there seems to be a tie, so Gally... you have to break it. He paces from you to Newt while everyone mumbles amongst each other, eager for him to choose. He stops in front of you as you hold your breath, "You're not so bad after all Greenie, you have my vote."

You thank Gally and hug Newt really tightly, "Thank you for convincing Alby, couldn't have done it without you!"
"Yeah I'm glad, I don't think I'm ready to run in there anyway."
Thomas' POV
Great.
She bumps into me, "Shit! Sorry um..." She turns around and her expression changes, "Sorry Thomas."
She probably hates me a lot right now, I would too. I can barely survive myself out there, these Gladers along with our leader, are out of their goddamn minds! I guess I was too lost in my thoughts to notice Minho standing in front of me like an idiot. "WHat's the matter?"
"Pfft, nothing what are you talking about?"
He scoffs, "I just watched you have a conversation with yourself for nearly a minute."
"I just think that Newt should have-"
"Is this about Y/N again?"
I roll my eyes and walk over to Gally, "Do you need something?" He asks. "I just wanted to say, maybe you wanna reconsider your vote."
"Why would I want to do that?"
"I mean, Newt will be way better than her and she is just a new girl. She will surely get herself killed if not all of us!"
"Oh, I see...you are just scared that she is going to replace you because you know for a fact that she is better than you."
"No, I don't give a fuck about that! I just need you to understand that you just voted her into a role that you o-or Newt should be in. You both have more experience and we need someone who is strong."
"I was outvoted and Newt is not any stronger than Y/N. This is what she wants so I voted for her, this is the happiest she has been since she came."
"Well if risking her life is what she wants, then fine! Let her be happy.... but let me tell you, that her blood is on your hands!"

He abruptly runs toward me, pushing me back.

I strike him back with a punch and before I know it, we are flipping each other over on the ground.
"Guys stop!" Y/N shouts with Newt pulling her back.
I kick him right in his stomach and he groans in pain, "Thomas, stop please!" she shouts again and pulls me off of him. "So you're on his side now?" I ask her looking at her concerned face. Gally stands up, "Get off me." I shove her off of me causing her to fall, I hesitate to apologize but she just shakes her head and turns away.
I realize I am not helping anyone right now so I extend my hand to Gally, "Sorry bro, this was my fault, can we just forget this happened?" He grabs my hand and slams me to the ground, "I forgive you."
"I deserved that."
I stand, wiping the dirt off of me and notice people still staring at me, "What are you all looking at huh? The show's over!"
