The battle had just ended on Stewjon, the boys were already celebrating. Droid parts were thrown about here and there. General skywalker approached the captain and congratulated him on a fight well fought, "Thanks, general. Though I think I definitely killed more clankers than you today"

Anakin playfully glared at his friend, "Really. My count is 75"

"138" Rex smugly replied. Anakin was speechless, "Fine fine. I'll get you next time"

Rex rolled his eyes, "Sure... Anyways, you might want to hurry to a secure location. Your lady is calling" Anakin smiled as he took the holo communicator from Rex, thanking him quietly.

As Anakin jogged off, Rex continued his checking routine around the area. He greeted the boys as they passed him and also checked up on Kix and any injured brothers. Finally pleased with the zero casualties record that the 501st managed to maintain, the good captain retreated to a quiet area. Lifting the helmet off his head, Rex finally took a deep breath and relaxed his sore muscles. The sun was setting, casting a beautiful array of colours, golden hues and royal reds across the sky.

"Another good battle." He patted himself on the back. There was a village not far from here that his battalion managed to relocate and save. Thank the good Force no civilians were hurt. However, his peace didn't last very long.

Some bushes began to shake and ruffle in front of him. Rex immediately reacted to take his blaster and prepared to fire. "Come out! I'm warning you"

No droids remained, so this was either a Seppy spy or an animal trying to attack him. The bushes rustled a little more and out of it, a tiny little girl dropped to the ground. Rex flinched backwards out of shock.

The mop of ( your hair color), moved as the girl began to pick herself up. Then, beautiful, innocent (your eye color), met Rex's golden brown ones. Never had Rex seen such innocence before, that the captain was stunned and didn't notice his blaster still trained on the girl.

"Please don't shoot me!" She cried out, holding her hands out in surrender.

Rex recovered from his trans and quickly lowered his pistol, "I'm so sorry. I didn't know you were a kid..." guilt took over his body. He winced as the girl cowered from him. Deciding to look less intimidating, the captain gently lowered himself to the ground. The young girl in front of him could not have been older than 11. She had beautiful (your skin color), but was covered in scratches and looked half-starved.

"Hey, don't worry. You safe, I'm not going to hurt you."

Peeking out a little, she noticed the warmth that radiated from the soldier. Gulping, she slowly uncurled herself and tilted her head in curiosity, "Can you help me?"

"Yes. Yes I can. Got a family kid?"

Your features fell, "They, they left me. Can you help me?"

When your face fell, Rex felt something primitive explode in his chest and it felt so natural and overpowering. Your watery eyes added to your cute rounded face and the captain just melted.

Back at the camp, the boys we getting worried about their captain. "Are you sure he's alright? He usually takes a timed break and comes back to camp right after" Echo glanced at his brother's who were equally worried.

Anakin returned to the group, the boys perked up, "Sorry. I could get a hold of him."

Kix grumbled to himself, "Well he couldn't have gone far right?"
