Phew!!! Now I know why everyone says that they have absolutely no time while taking care of a newborn! XD As amazing and fun the experience is, it has taken up all of my time, and I haven't been able to work on this book for a while.
Still, I managed to make some time in the midst of all the sleepless nights and hectic days, so here's the new chapter!
I hope that this was worth the wait! I was definitely happy writing and publishing this new chapter since this book is one that I have been looking forward to for a while now!
Happy reading! :)

Alysa pov:
My eyes darted momentarily to the door of the store room as I brought out Mr. Albert's breakfast. The Zero that I had saved only last evening, Rayner had insisted on waiting there while the morning crowd came in instead of in one of the rooms on the upper floor. He had freshened up earlier though and seemed to be in a much calmer state of mind than when he had woken.
In fact, he had given me quite a fright when he had first woken. From the way he had behaved when I had touched him to help, and the love bites on his skin, it had occurred to me that he had gone through something terrible enough to not want physical contact with anyone. It had only been proven right when he had thrown up after trying to leave the store room, his expression one of utter disgust and agitation. I had hurriedly brought over Lyle to help and Rayner had allowed him to bring him back into the café and relax before we spoke.
Arran had rushed in, in worry soon after, only to scold me for being so reckless and getting involved with Zeros more than necessary when he had warned me of what it could result in. After all the chaotic fussing, Lyle and Arran had finally left and I had offered for Rayner to wash up and rest for a bit. I had given him and Ida breakfast after that before the two of them had secluded themselves in the store room, out of sight of the customers who would visit the café.
In all honesty, the possible danger of the situation I had put myself in had dawned upon me only when Rayner had stood to follow me. He was a knight and had the physique of one - he was tall, broad and looked powerful. He towered over me, enough to make me look small, and had a sort of darkness shrouding his eyes that I hadn't noticed until he had looked down at me with a narrowing gaze. It had made me nervous, even though he had apologized for being rude to me earlier and thanked me for saving his life.
He had also seemed rather surprised of my healing ability, calling me an Alpha. I had a feeling that it was something profound but I didn't know what to really make of it since the High Priest had not made a big deal out of my mana when he had told me about my ability. If my mana was as great as what Rayner had made it sound, surely the High Priest would have insisted me to go to the temple with him.
Whatever the case, uneasiness had stirred within me and I was now mentally scolding myself for being the opposite of my usually cautious self and doing something completely out of character that could mean trouble for me. Then again, it's not like I could just leave someone to die when I had the power to prevent it...
