"We've taken care of the marquis as you ordered, commander," said Louis, a captain of mine.
"Good. I assume you took care of everyone and not just that b******," I said without looking up from the document I was going through.
"Of course, we took care of his family including his young son. The human servants who rebelled were take care of as well while the ones who surrendered have been locked in the dungeons with the others. The Zeros who had been working there have been taken to Erast Castle," answered Louis. "Will you be visiting Erast soon?"
"In a day or two," I said, now looking up to him. "Where is Nemel?"
"Captain Nemel is yet to return from Merten. I assume he's taking time to enjoy himself a bit."
Nemel, while one of the more powerful Zeros that followed me, was also brutal and sadistic. He had watched his family be slaughtered in front of his eyes by the man who had enslaved him and his sister for years and even violated his sister until he put a knife through her heart. It had resulted in a sort of split personality in him - while he could appear clam and composed most of the time despite his boiling hatred for any human, he would find utmost pleasure in watching them writhe in pain before he finished them.

Then again, all of us found satisfaction in watching the humans writhe in pain and beg for their lives before we slaughtered them. But Nemel was perhaps an extreme, enjoying the more than average torture he did to his victims. It was a way for him to get revenge for what had happened ro his family as well as that of so many other Zeros that had suffered at the hands of humans, so I did nothing to stop him or change his ways.
However, he did not differentiate between humans who had always abused Zeros and those who had been neutral or even kind to Zeros. To Nemel, all humans were the same - prey that had to be tortured and killed because they deserved nothing more. The malice that had filled his eyes when I had ordered him to escort Alysa to her place of staying when we had run into her in Veritas while on a mission to kill another human noble family there was unmistakable. It had taken him all his strength to not hurt Alysa solely because she was the Alpha that we needed for our healing during the time we overthrew the humans.
On that note, as Alden had spoken of it some time ago, it was necessary that Alysa would have to be brought here to Ozryn soon, to our stronghold to serve us. While it was one thing that going to Amzell every time someone was injured was unnecessary extra effort, there was also the possibility that other humans would find out about her powers or that she was helping the rebel army of Zeros and would slip out of our grasp. There was also the fact that she had realized that something about me was odd, that I was perhaps not working for the humans as a knight of a duchy. Her expression that day when she had seen me in the alleyways of Veritas, covered in blood and cold in demeanor because I was annoyed, had made it obvious that doubts had risen in her.
