"Daddy can we watch movie?" Riley asks me. "Sure we can baby. What movie do you wanna watch?" I ask. "Let's watch mulan!" Riley says giggling. I sit down with her on the couch and go on Netflix and put mulan on. Then all of a sudden my phone states to ring.
"Hello?"
"Hello sir this is San fransico hospital. I'm looking for a Stephen Curry."
"This is him." I say my voice shaking a bit.
"I'm sorry to inform you that ms.lopez has been shot in a bank robbery and is in surgery right now."
I hang up the phone and shoot up from the couch. I grab Riley and run to my car. As I'm driving to the hospital I dial Klay's number. (WARNING:don't talk on the phone while you drive. You might die!) "hey what's-" Klay says but I cut him off. "Meet me at the hospital now. I'll explain later just please hurry!" I say and hang up. I pull into the hospital and grab Riley and run to the E.R. "Vannessa Lopez. Where is she?!" I say as I get to the receptionist. She types something in her computer and then speaks. "I'm sorry sir but she's in surgery right now. Please have a seat." The lady says kindly. I find a seat in the corner and sit Riley next to me. "Daddy where is nessa?" I hear Riley ask. I turn to look at her with my bloodshot eyes and put on a fake smile. "Nessa is at the doctors so she can feel better." I say to my beautiful daughter softly. 10 minutes later klay comes running into the hospital. He spots me and quickly comes over to me. "Steph what the hells wrong?!" He says looking at me. "Van..nessa had b..been shot"I say quietly so only klay could hear. he stares at me in shock. "What!how!" He says loudly. "I'm not really sure but I think they said a bank robbery. She was going to the store to get stuff for the barbecue and I guess she went to the bank first." I say. "ill call draymond to see if he can take Riley. Okay?" Klay asks. I nod my head and klay walks outside.
It's been about 3 hours since I got here and still nobody came and told me anything. Like who the hell is running this place?! Most of the team is here and coach Kerr is here also. As I'm sitting here staring at the floor a man walks into the E.R that looks about 50. He goes over to the receptionist and then comes and sits next to me. "I'm Steven." He says. "I'm Vanessa's dad." I turn to look at the man and you could tell he had been crying because of his tear stained skin. "I'm Stephen. I'm Vanessa's boyfriend." I say. "Yea she told me about you. I already knew who you are because I'm a big warrior but Vanessa only told me that she was dating a guy named Stephen." Steven explained. As he said that a doctor walked into the reception area. "Ms.lopez?" He says. I stand up from my seat as do the rest of the team and her dad. "Um just the family." The doctor says. Me and Steven walk to the doctor. as I do I hear Andre say to himself 'but we are family!'. "I'm her dad and this is her boyfriend." Steven says. "Well ms.lopez did remarkably well in surgery" when I hear that a smile spreads on my face, but then it drops."bit I'm afraid to say that ms. Lopez is in a coma. And you may see her now. Floor 3 rm 209." The doctor then walks away. "You can see her first." Steven says. "Are you sure because you're-" he cut me off. "Son. Just go." I half smile and walk to the elevator.
When I find her room I get scared to walk in. But I do it. Her face is so pale. Almost unrecognizable. I walk over to the chairs next to her and sit down. I bond her hand and it's so cold. "Vanessa please be okay. I don't what I'd do without you. Fight baby. Fight for you,fight for you're dad,fight for me. You promised you would come home. You promised!" I say full on sobbing.
