Ace's perspective

She was still breathing, but it was very shallow. Blood dripped from her head. She had a gash that looked like a second mouth on her forehead. She had a massive slash across her face as well.

I recoiled at the sight of it. White beard raised his bisento and smashed it into the ground.

I threw her over my shoulder and ran for the ship. I heard massive footsteps behind me and I looked back. Whitebeard was also running to the ship.

Soon the whole crew was running. Whitebeard picked Echo up off my shoulder and carried her, since I could run faster and we could get to the sip quicker.

Once we got on board we set sail. And we were going fast. Whitebeard gave Echo to the doctor that was on board. I followed them. Echo had several broken bones and had burns all over her.

I watched as the doctor bandaged her face, covering almost everything but her right eye and her nose.

The doctor put a cast on her and some medicine in her using needle. I pulled a stool next to her bed and just sat there, watching her.

I must've fallen asleep because when I woke up, I saw outside the window it was dark. Echo had woken up and saw I was sitting here. I looked at her and she must've smiled because small wrinkles appeared next to her eyes.

She looked at her crutches and crawled over to get them. I grabbed them and handed them to her. She couldn't talk to she nodded. She hobbled out of the room and onto the deck. She signaled for me to follow her. I did and she led me to the sleeping area she had been sleeping in.

She went to the nightstand and dug out some square pieces of paper. Why does she need paper? I raised an eyebrow.

She handed them to me and led me out onto the deck. She sat down and took a square of paper. She started to fold it. I watched as the square turn into a origami crane.

I watched as she folded the wings out and set it down on the ground. She then handed me a piece of paper and I sat down next to her. She folded the paper in half, and then pointed at me.

I didn't understand and she folded the paper for me. Ooooh she trying to teach me how to do it! She folded the paper again, and I followed her instructions.

(I also know how to fold a paper crane so ima leave some directions for you guys :))

When I was down folding, I had a crooked origami crane. I smiled. I looked at Echo. Her's was almost perfectly folded, with crisp edges. She showed me some other origami, like paper flowers, snakes, and a origami dagger.

I yawned. I was pretty tired. Echo got her crutches and stood up. We put the paper back and I took my little paper crane with me back to where her bed was. She sat on her bed and wrote something on a piece of paper.

"Why don't you go to bed? It's late. I'm going to bed too. :)" said the piece of paper.

I smirked. "Well, I wanna spend as much time with you as I can. You will probably be leaving soon anyways." She nodded and wrote some more on the paper.

"I miss my Pops. He is a good father."
She wrote.

I nodded. "Ima head to bed. I think I have to. I'll see you in the morning."
She nodded and laid down. Her breathing slowed. I walked out and went to where my bed was. I fell asleep, thing of what her life was like.
