Thankfully, there is one lone person inside the elevator who presses the button open again.

"Thank you!" you say, getting in. He nods.

The lift feels too silent after the echoey atrium.

"Monica?" You start nervously.

"Hmm?"

"I haven't written a song by myself in five months," you say, watching the numbers on the elevator screen increase in sync with your heart rate.

"Don't worry about that now," Monica responds.

"Did they really like the demos? What if the whole thing turns out to be a hoax -"

Monica hands the tablet in her hands to Lily. She then clasps your palms in hers.

"Y/N. Take a deep breath."

You inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.

"They loved the demos. Leave Me Alone is steady on the charts - you collaborated with eaJ, remember?" you nod as Monica continues to talk, "There are plenty songwriters out there who are lining up to write for you. And Y/N - of course, the deal will go through. Legal has already gone over the contract, we're just here to sign - why would they ask you to start rehearsing for the festival from today if they weren't serious about signing you?"

Monica has replaced her usual sharp tone with a kinder, reassuring one.

"Okay. Yeah. You're right." You take a few more deep breaths. You're freaking out, but you're also excited for the opportunities that might come your way.

"I just wish I could start writing again. I've never had a writing block last this long, it's worrying me," you mumble.

"We'll work on that. Either way, we're bringing enough to the table. Great talent, exceptional PR, and a very charming personality."

"Aw, did you just call me charming?" you smile at Monica cheekily.

"No, I meant Lily."

Lily blushes so sweetly at the offhand praise from her senior that you let go of your urge to retort.

"Don't forget Miley Cyrus retweeted your cover of The Climb last week," Lily grins displaying the screen of your phone in her hand.

"Oh, yeah! How could I forget," you squeal, grabbing your social media phone out of Lily's hands. It has Miley's Twitter feed open with the retweet - a blurry phone video of the airport performance with the caption - "this is so good <3" The audio is raw, with just you and the guitar, and in the later parts, a chorus of people in the background, singing and swinging those emergency lamps.

A thought in your head comes from nowhere. You and Suga would be under the same company. Not the same label, but the same company. You've been negotiating with HYBE for weeks, but the connection wasn't apparent until now. Ever since your songs blew up in Korea, you have acquainted yourself quite well with K-pop. BTS was naturally one of the first artists whose music you got into.

Along with Agust D.

You couldn't quite get over his haunting lyrics, though you never accept that out aloud. Now, it's weird to think that it was him who played the guitar as you sang. That day, you felt he was arrogant, but your memory has softened now. Especially after Miley Cyrus retweeted that performance.

Your mind returns to the matter at hand.

"Yeah, let's do this..." you mutter seriously. Next to you, Lily and Monica exchange glances, wondering how to pump some energy into you.
