On the way back, you find yourself feeling dazed. He decided to go to his parents' for the night, so you were returning to Seoul by yourself. You just hoped that the whole Zach incident wouldn't bother him much. Or that your dumb, dumb confession of your past life hadn't put him off. Because, for you, apart from all that, today had been strangely beautiful and fun.

The gentle rumble of the moving car lulls you into a state of zoned out consciousness. Not asleep, not quite awake. You try to think about today's events in detail but your head hurts. There hasn't been enough time to sleep on your schedule, and now that you're alone, your body is unloading all that fatigue onto you. Well, if you can't sleep, you can meditate. It hardly ever works with your overactive brain normally, but tonight, you feel like you could use a peaceful, happy place in your head. The only problem was that you were never able to find it - no matter what guided meditation techniques you put yourself through. The closest you came to finding one was the memory of you driving the Cayenne by yourself. But you couldn't even picture that now...

And then you find yourself back in the green room. Yoongi is sitting across from you in that makeup chair, typing something into the translation app on your phone. It feels so homely.

Your eyes fly open. What was that feeling right now?

Unable to decode it, you allow yourself to sink into it, holding on to his voice, his face, until you reach home.

Monica's relieved face greets you the moment you key in the passcode to your Airbnb.

"Ah, what did you get into this time, Y/N..." she mutters, examining the patchwork bandaids on your hands and the thin cut on your forehead. You had called her up from the car about an hour ago.

"Thank you for coming over, and I'm so sorry - whoa!"

She hugs you tightly.

"I thought you were gonna tell me off," you say, hugging her back.

"Of course not, I'm just glad that you are safe," she says. The relief and care in her voice makes you emotional. "Thanks, Mom - I mean Mon-ica," you burp.

"Good god, how drunk are you?" she instantly switches back to her stern self, but keeps a gentle arm around your shoulder, guiding you into the living room.

You spot Rhea on the beanbag on the floor. Curled up like a kitty, she takes a break from her phone and waves at you. You wave back. Tinkering sounds from the kitchen seize as Lily pops her head out and asks, "is she home?"

She comes to you running while you plop down on the sofa.

"Y/N! Did you seriously fight off a dude carrying a knife?" she squeals, her eyes big. You giggle, relishing the awe in her voice.

In the background, Rhea shrieks "WHAT" and stares. Monica had not told her the details as to why you all were suddenly gathering at Y/N's place.

"Yeah, I really did all that..." you answer with a groan, feeling your scrunched up back.

"Don't encourage her," Monica advises Lily.

"I won't, Monica ma'am, but - why did she have to in the first place?" Lily switches to a more appropriate sombre tone.

"He was after Yoongi, not me - didn't make it any less creepy, trust me..." you go on and tell them everything, from how you met Zach as just another rude customer with Imo to how things finally ended.

"Why did you have to step in, Y/N? You could've just waited for Mr. Kim to show up and handle the situation," Monica takes a reprimanding tone as she sits next to you, but it isn't harsh.

"How could I wait? That idiot was literally flashing that knife so carelessly. And it's not like I blindly jumped in. I planned what I'd do in my head first,"

"I totally stan this hero behaviour, Y/N. You saved Suga. That's what matters," Rhea comments.

"You know, I want to agree with you, Rhea, but I'd appreciate it if you worry about your auntie as much as you worry about your idols," Monica snaps at her so fast that your own retort stays stuck on your tongue.

"Mom, that's not how I-" Rhea gets teary at getting told off so suddenly.

"Hey, you guys. Don't. She didn't mean it like that, Monica..." you mutter.

Rhea comes and sits on your other side quietly. You give her a side hug.

"Sorry, Y/N," she whispers.

You squeeze her shoulder, and then rest your head on Monica's shoulder.

"Can we all sleep here tonight? Like here in this living room," you say, your eyes half-closed. You can feel your brain letting go of everything. The alcohol settled down long ago - now you're just reeling from the cumulative weight of long and longer work days and the tension and excitement of today that has drained every ounce of energy from your body. You're achy and floaty at the same time, you realize as you lean on Monica like a little kid.

"She's completely out of it," Lily whispers. Monica gently taps your head. "Y/N?" she says, "take a hot shower. You'll feel better. Meanwhile, Lily's made dinner. Let's have some, okay?"

You nod without lifting up your head.

"I want my family to stay here..." you murmur.

"Should I call your mum?" Monica asks.

"I will...I miss her...but I mean you guys. Stay here..."

"We're here, Y/N," Monica says softly.

"Is she drunk?" Rhea whispers to Lily.

"A little, sweety. But mostly just tired beyond imagination."

Meanwhile, you're chuckling with your eyes closed, "...we got a little drunk, me and Yoongi, but that was hours ago, now I'm faainnnneeee..."

Lily giggles, while Rhea clasps her hands over her mouth staring at all the adults in the room.

"...by the way, he's invited me over on March 9. I wonder what he's planning..."

"He invited you over on his birthday?" Rhea squeals.

You sit up, sobered in an instant. "Is that what that is? Aw, shoot. I told him I'd try to come. He didn't mention it was his birthday at all...aww nooo..." you slump back into Monica's arms.

"Just eat something and go to sleep, Y/N," Monica commands.

"Look at her grin," Lily can't help but laugh.

"Do you think she can handle dating someone - and him of all the people - above everything else that is going on?" she asks, her tone serious.

"Oh yeah," Monica says, "you know how she is - laughing, cribbing, crying all over the place. She never holds it in. That's why she can take more pressure than all of us combined. And she never takes it too seriously. Not herself, not any of this."

"But she takes full responsibility," Lily adds, "going all the way..."

"Exactly. That's why I work here, Lily. The work satisfaction is incomparable..." Monica gives a rare affectionate look to your sleeping form.

[A/N - hey y'alll!!! I'm so nervous and excited for the next updates. They aren't all edited yet so please give me about a week to get it done, okay?
