Was she really going to commit to such a thing for Earth?

Earth slowly nodded his head, looking at the worried woman, "I know, but it's only a legend."

Or maybe not.

If being a ghost was possible then maybe the legend was real, too.

The woman swiftly shook her head, "no, you are wrong. It's not only a legend, it's real. Every word in that legend is true," she was nodding her head to further confirm her words, "everything."

"How can you be so sure?" Earth stepped closer to her, with amazement realising she didn't back away, not even a little. She truly wasn't afraid of him. She wasn't afraid of ghosts.

The woman looked around herself, patting the head of her baby, and waving at Earth to follow her, "I live nearby, it's better if we talk there." She wasn't crying anymore, looking more composed together than Earth expected her to be in their situation.

Earth had nowhere to go anyway so he caught up with her, walking by her side, through the night streets of Bangkok, throwing a look here and there at the tiny boy in woman's arms who kept looking at Earth with his big round eyes and that entertained smile.

"Your son seems to like me," Earth pointed out.

"Well, you are the first ghost he sees after all."

"How do you know I'm first?"

The woman looked at Earth as if he was stupid, "clearly, I can see ghosts too, so I think that if my one-year-old son saw a ghost before I would know about it since I'm with him all the time, don't you think?"

Earth chuckled defensively, "um, yeah I guess you got a point."

The baby giggled, pointing his tiny finger at Earth.

Earth lowered himself on the eye level with the baby, still keeping his walking speed with the woman, "hi there big boy, I'm the first ghost you have ever seen, nice to meet you."

"We are here," the woman suddenly stopped in front of the small house with an even smaller front garden and opened the gate.

"Ehmm, won't your husband think that you are out of your mind, talking to air? He can't see ghosts, can he?"

"He can't see anything anymore, he is dead...and already fully away from this world," the woman said, not looking at Earth even once, opening the entrance door. "Welcome home, Earth." With these words, she did look at Earth, tender eyes full of hidden secrets were inviting him in.

Earth didn't know what to say, he was looking around himself for a moment and then shaking his head, he crossed the threshold.

"I will put Aroon to sleep and then we can talk," she didn't even wait for Earth's answer, getting lost somewhere in her house.
