Need to know basis

Y/n pov

After we had eaten i quickly got changed into a pair of black jeans and green t-shirt before jumping on my motorcycle, riding over the large SHIELD building just a few blocks over. Figuring it would be better if i was seen entering the building and not just walking out. No one even turns their head as i walk throughout the corridor, sometimes i love walking here because i'm just like everyone else then. Sure, no one knows i'm a speedster but i'm just an agent to them and i love it. The elevator is taking too long that i slip into the stairwell just to get up faster.

"Haven't your brother told you not to use your powers without your mask and suit where there are cameras" Nick says as i come into his office. Of course he has cameras in the stairs.

"Well get faster elevators then" i say with a smile as i sit down in front of him on the other side of the desk.

"Now, what did you find out?" he asks, nothing slow about this man at all.

"First you might want to see this" i say, pulling out the flash gun out of my inner pocket. I hand him it and he just looks at it. "It can make someone forget what just happened and you get to decide how long"

"How do you know?"

"Thomas... he took me to this meeting where they presented new weapons, they gave demonstrations on every one of them. I use that one on Thomas so he couldn't tell them we knew where it was" i say pointing to the one in his hands.

"And do we" he puts it down on the desk and meets my gaze.

"I'll be on a boat arriving at eight pm tonight at NYC harbor"

"Security?"

"Small to a minimum, they think no one even knows about it so they don't have much to not seem suspicious. I mean who thinks just one cargo has such security?" i lean back into the chair and look out the window and then back to Nick. "Nick? why doesn't the rest know what we're after?"

"The less that know the better"

"Then why tell me? Shouldn't it be Steve, i mean he's the captain"

"Because this is a solo thing and he brings to much attention"

"You mean a 'he' gets noticed while a 'she' gets ignored. You know i could call you sexist for that if you weren't right" he gives a small smile to my words but there's no humor in it.

"You think you can handle it? You'll be all on your own there. The others won't be inside"

"Of course i can handle it, i'm y/n Stark, i can handle anything" i say even i don't know if that's true. I have so much more to lose now then i had before. "What is so special about this piece of stick anyway?"

"Legend says it's a spear of some kind. It's said to be able to change reality to whoever's wishes. The spear of destiny. Said to be a part of Christ's crucifixion. That's not something we want in the hands of the enemy, is it?"

"No, of course not. So what are we gonna do with it?"

"Just make sure it doesn't get in the wrong hands"

Wanda pov

"So we're not supposed to do anything but wait?" Nat asks now that Steve has told us the plan he got from Fury.

"Jupp, that's our orders" Steve says but i can see that he's not really digging this either.

"And we're gonna let her go in all by herself?" i ask and he nods. "Why? What's so important and secret?"

"Why don't you ask her? Since you're so close" Tony says and i can't help but let a small smile out to the face he made when he showed the workers the way in. Priceless, i should have taken a photo so you could have seen it as well.

"I'm not gonna use my relationship with her to find out. She's not gonna fall for it anyways, she'll see right through me" i say and shrug my shoulders before leaning back in my chair.

"Let's just follow orders, there's probably a really good reason why we can't know and it's not our job to figure that out" Steve says with his authority voice again and i'm growing tired of it. I'm not gonna let my soulmate go into a boat by herself without backup. Let's just start at the fact that you're afraid of the ocean.

"Believe it or not but i agree with Steve, there's nothing we can do and Wanda's right, she won't fall for it. Let's just get ready so that we're leaving in five hours to circle the area, check in security" Nat says and i'm pretty sure she doesn't. Pretty sure she's gonna go off and find out for herself.

"Then we'll see each other on the jet at four" Clint says and we all nod before i leave first.

"You seem happy" i hear someone say somewhere down the hall to our room.

"Yeah, i guess i am" i hear you answer and i wonder who you're talking to.

"I'm glad y/n, i'm glad that you've found a new soulmate" the first woman says and excuse me. A new soulmate? Since when do you have two? Who are you talking about?

"So am i, this time it might actually..." you cut yourself of like you hear me coming upp, you turn to meet my gaze.

"Hey y/n, Pepper" i say as i notice who the other woman is. But before they can say anything i say and slink into our room. "I'll see you later"

"I'll talk to you later Pepper" you say and follow me into our room, apartment, chamber. "Wait Wanda, how much of that did you hear?"

"Enough to know i'm not your first" i don't look at you as i walk into the bedroom and towards our closet.

"Because my first, or at least who i first thought, was Emilia" i stand still as i feel stupid i didn't think of her. "You know, before she died"

"You never talk about her" i turn to face you but your not meeting my gaze.

"Didn't think you wanted me to talk about a past lover" you say with a smirk, meeting my gaze finally. God damn, your personality twist is driving me crazy.

"Yeah, i mean since she was your best friend your whole life too. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want too but you can if you want, i'll listen" you quickly close the space between us to press your lips against mine.

"I prefer not talking" you smirk into the kiss, sending vibrations throughout my body.
