Chapter 20: Fighting God?

Naofumi Pov

'Why does it hurt so much?'

I opened my eyes and I was met with a rock ceiling. I stared in confusion as I slowly sat up.

"Where am I" I muttered while looking around. I see a familiar cushion and an old but clean bookshelf. 

'Was this the room I stayed in when I came to this world?'

I felt a tug from my sleeve. I looked down and saw Rhaptila and Kasel here. 

'When did Kasel get here?' I thought.

Kasel and Rhaptila we're quietly snoring. I hold in my giggle not wanting to wake them up. I look to my right and see Isabella sleeping. I got closer and could see little bags under her eyes. 

"Did she stay up too long?" I muttered to myself. I slowly got up but groaned in pain. I lift my shirt to see bandages wrap around my stomach. I winced sitting up and just stayed there to get my breath.

'Did I lose the fight?'

I got out of bed and took in my surroundings. I noticed there was a tray of food on the table. I got closer to the food and noticed there were several trays of food on the table. I looked back at the three and thought 'Did they not eat while here?' I grabbed the bread and took a bite out of it. It was off-tastes but I didn't mind. I walked around the room and noticed the balcony was open. I limp my way over to the door and peek my head out to see the view.

What I didn't expect to see was a woman wearing a mass standing on top of the ledge.

"Umm, Hello Miss, whatcha doing?" I said to her, She was started by me and quickly turned around. Once she got one look at me she calmed down.

"Don't tell anyone I was here alright" She looked down at me. I could make out a mask on her face and in this long hood. She turned back around and was about to jump.

"Wait, who are you?" I got closer to her but decided to keep my distance. She stops and turns her head at me and smiles.

"You figure it out when you have a meeting with my boss" And with that, she jumped off the ledge and fled into the night. I stood there thinking about what she said when a gust of wind went by. I shivered and went inside, closing the door. I walk up to Isabella and tap on her hand. She immediately woke up and looked around. I stepped back when she took out her weapons.

"Isabella it's me" I whispered loudly. She looks at me and sighs as she puts her weapons away. She grabbed me and gave me a big hug. I hugged her back but after a bit, she didn't let go.

'Did something bad happen while I was out?'

I hear noise coming from the bed and I see Rhaptilla and Kasel sitting up. Immediately when they saw me they jumped up and hopped on us and gave us a big hug. I could feel tears coming down from the two of them. I gave the two big hugs and Isabella held us up. 

We stayed that way for a while.

Time Skip

"So what happened while I was out?" I sat on the bed next to Rhaptila and with Kasel on my lap. Isabella sat in her seat crossing her legs.

"During the battle, you were hit by Malty and we're knocked out. The spear hero wanted to end you but was stopped by this unknown being. He protected you but for not the best reason. You will be fighting him, he said before he left. The kingdom must protect you, and if anything happens to you we will face the wrath of this being. So now the kingdom has decided what to do." Isabella pinches the bridge of her nose. I could see was tired but she seemed to have no energy. She reminds me of my Mom and Dad being exhausted from work.

"How powerful is he?" I ask looking up at her. She pauses for a moment then says "that being is God, he could summon beasts that are too powerful for this world to handle" she claps her hands together but notices her hands are shaking.

'She scared'

"How am I going to fight him!" I yelled. There was silence. I could feel Rhaptila and Kasel looking at me.

"I don't know" I gulped when Isabella said. I felt my whole body shake and hold in my tears.

'Don't cry

I sniff real loud and let my breath out. "Don't worry Isabella I will be able to beat" Isabella looks at me and gives a small smile.

 The room was silent until a knock was heard. We all looked at the door and Isabella said "come in". The door open and a maid with short brown hair and a normal maid uniform came in.

"My apologies for interrupting but the king would like to speak with all of you but he asks not to bring the monster" she frowns when she sees Kasel.

"Sorry, but he will be staying with us, he makes me feel safe" I say. She frowned even more but she felt Isabella's glare and she immediately left the room. We looked at each but Isabella was the first to speak. "Alright let see what he wants" she gets up and straight out her maid uniform. I, Rhaptila, and Kasel hop off the bed and start walking towards the door.

We headed into the hallway and it was total Kaos. Guards were running in a hurry and some people were dressed up nicely heading into the rooms. I wondered what was going on until I remembered what Isabella told me.

"How long has this been going on?" Isabella looked at me.

"A whole week," She replied quickly.

"I have been out for a whole week?!" I looked up at her and she nodded. It made my head all dizzy that I leaned on Rhaptila a bit. She gasps but grabs a hold of my shoulder and pulls me up. She asked if I was ok and I nodded so as not to scare her. I said thank you to her and she gave me a big smile. 

We waited for a few minutes before reaching the big doors that I saw before. I let out a big breath and push open the door and I see the king.

'Let just get this over with'
