I guess you guys can have an apology chapter.

When Chuuya Nakahara became conscious again, it was to that of a searing white light and a head ache that could kill.

His temples thrummed and even the slightest movement of his fingers made him dizzy.

So instead he sighed and laid flat out on the thin mattress and pillow that reeked of disinfectant and death.

A young woman walked in not much later. At least it didn't feel like a very long time. Though every second seemed to skip a beat.

She moved around him, and he tried to catch a glimpse of her but his eyes shut an instant after he opened them. His vision going white and making the pounding of his head worsen.

Finally, he threw enough force into his arm that it lifted and collapsed to the bed.

He heard the nurse, or doctor, he wasn't entirely sure, inhale quickly and hurry over to him.

"Oh my goodness, you're awake," He could hear the grin in her voice.

She quickly reacher over and peeled the mask off his face, it left a steadily patch of sweat and condensation around his nose and mouth. Chuuya inhaled the air and felt the scent of chemicals sting his lungs. Then a small, cool metal tube slipped past his lips. Allowing water to trickle down his tongue and throat.

His voice felt hoarse, and he coughed immediately after trying to speak. Though a few seconds later he could feel words form and fall off his tongue.

"Where is he?" Chuuya whispered, his throat catching on each syllable.

"What? Who?" The nurse asked, confusion masking her tone.

"Osamu Dazai, he's-" Chuuya stops in a fit of coughing. "He's my lover."

"Oh, I- I'm sorry," The nurse murmurs.

"He's gone?" Chuuya's voice is a sharp whimper.

"Well, technically speaking, no,"

Chuuya's eyes fly open.

"What?" He asks. Staring directly at the nurse.

"I was by your side when you were brought in, I didn't get a good look at him. Though he hasn't passed away, his condition is unstable,"

"He's alive?" Chuuya chokes in disbelief.

"Yes, he's alive,"

"Can I see him?"

"I- You're more stable than he is, but you shouldn't be moving around." The nurse explains. Chuuya hears her but the words just slide out the other ear.

"When can I see him?"

"Nakahara- Chuuya, there's the chance that he won't make it through tonight. It's eleven in the evening."

"But he might?"

"Yes, there's a chance, and if he does, his condition will be stable."

Chuuya feels his entire body seize, as if his heart stopped. For all he knew it might have, but the words rang in his ears. Yes, he's alive. He's alive. He's alive. Over and over again.

"Two days time, minimum, before either of you will be able to have guests or see eachother." The nurse continues.

Chuuya's stomach pitched, but he held on to that thread of hope. Two days is a hell of a lot shorter than a life time.

"I understand," He lied.

The nurse peered at him, and quickly shut the door. "Tomorrow night at the earliest, if he makes it through the night I'll take you to see him,"

"What?" Chuuya stares at her.

"I envy you, your lover has a chance to make it through this. My wife-" the nurse paused. "My wife overdosed several years ago, and now I'm raising my little ones by myself."

"If he makes it through tonight," Chuuya breathes.

"Yes." The nurse nods.

"Thank you," He watches her walk from his room, head held high.

The way she phrased it made it seem like there was no chance of him making it, but if anybody can pull through this, it's Osamu.

He cringed as he realized he hadn't told her he was sorry, sorry for her loss, that she had not had the chance he didn't deserve.

Chuuya tried to crack his back, but everything seemed to ache, or be numb, with no in between.

His brain finally took in the time he'd been unconscious. Thirty eight hours. He'd been brought to the hospital. So had Osamu.

His stomach clenched but he breathed through his nose and gritted his teeth. The nausea refusing to subside.

Chuuya was sickened by the fact that he'd been asleep, or unconscious at least, for the longest time in his life and yet tiredness ached in his muscles. He should be stronger than that.

"Mr. Nakahara is it?" A voice asked from the doorway. Chuuya looked over to see a man dressed in a doctor's attire.

"Yes," He responded.

"I have a few questions if you might be willing to answer them now,"

"What kind of questions?" Chuuya asked skeptically.

"Ah, well your- partner, has a record with being hospitalized due to suicidal actions."

Chuuya stayed silent.

"I was wondering if you, and his family, had regarded having him hospitalized-"

"No." Chuuya said quickly.

"I understand that you might believe that, but his family should be-"

"He's an orphan."

"Ah, I see," The doctor scribbled something down.

"Is there anything else?"

"Oh, yes," The doctor paused. "You and him are both on record as suicidal because of this accident, and I must ask what the root regarding this incident was."

"My ability-"

"You're an ability user?"

"Yes, and it should have been able to prevent this incident."

"I see," The doctor, seemed to glare at his paper as he jotted down several more notes.

"Anymore questions?" Chuuya asked.

"No, I've heard enough. Thank you,"

At that the doctor seemed to flee from the room.

Surprise!

They're both alive :)
