"Are you freaking kidding me?" Vie yelled at me as I lay on my bed. "Why aren't you ready?"

Our first class was English with, guess who! I hadn't felt like getting up, or even attending class. Some things were just better left alone. And that thing was me.

"I don't want-"

"Get up!" She yelled. "Come on! We need to go! Now!"

I groaned loudly and rolled out of bed, quickly slipping on a pair of jeans and a random shirt. With a loud huff I grabbed my bag and followed Ms. I'm-never-late-to-classes out the door.

"Is... Is your hair wet?" Vie asked me, running her hand through it. "Why is your hair wet?"

"I took a shower not to long ago."

"So you were up. But couldn't get ready?"

"I've had a stressful morning." I murmured. "Can we just get a muffin and go to class?" I muttered as we walked from building to building.

"Gotcha covered." Jake purred from behind us, holding out two blueberry muffins in between us.

"You're my savior." I said with a chuckle and took a muffin, picking at the top of it as we walked.

Vie glared at me, and I knew very well that I shouldn't flirt in any way shape or form with him in front of her. I suppressed an eye roll as she took her muffin.

We all had English together, so naturally we talked as we walked, and enjoyed our food.

I pulled the door to our classroom open, one single row of seats arranged in a crescent around the teachers podium. We took the far left three seats, making sure to sit next to each other. These could easily be our assigned seats all year.

Vie sat on the outside, I sat in the middle, and Jake eagerly took the seat next to me.

A few other students flooded in, filling up the fifteen seats that completed our crescent. And, as the last student sat, as if on cue, Jax emerged from the back office and stood at the podium.

"Okay, glad to see everyone's here." He scribbled something on a pad of paper he had then glanced up. His eyes swept from Vie, to me, then stayed on Jake. His gaze turning to a glare as he looked at me once more. He snapped his eyes closed and looked back at his pad of paper. "Okay, I take it all of you know each other, or do we have to play a game?"

Everyone was excited for a game, but I honestly didn't want to talk to any new people today, I just wasn't feeling it.

Jax didn't hide his irritation, "Okay, I want you to partner up with someone-" I grabbed Vies hand and giggled loudly with her, his eyes flickering to me as he paused. "And I want you to come up with three different facts about your partner so you can tell the rest of the class..." He looked at everyone, "think you can do that?" The class was quiet, "well?"

"Pretty sure we're capable, sir." Jake said tightly.

Jax's eyes flickered over to him, clearly unimpressed. "I'm sure it will be easy for some... Maybe not others." He raised his brows, "you have fifteen minutes." He pointed at Jake, "you're my partner."

"You've godda be kidding me." He said faintly, but scurried over anyway.

The class erupted in talking as I turned to Vie. "Oh hey, girl."

She smiled at me, "he doesn't seem to like Jake very much, huh?"

I shook my head, "they seem to hate each other. Testosterone."

We nodded in unison and began our list. The 15 minutes didn't last very long, and soon everyone was going up to the podium and sharing.

When it was Vies and my turn, we stood up there and just looked at each other for a few minutes.
