"He really doesn't have to come in here." I muttered, tugging a hat on my head after folding my hair into a ball on top of my head. The last thing he needed to see was my mass amounts of black and silver hair.

"Shut up." Vie growled, opening the door. Paxton stood, leaning against the door frame. His head was tilted down, his chest nearly bare, just a small white wife beater covering his well defined pecs.

I didn't notice I was holding my breath when I saw him, but when his eyes flickered up to me, looking at me from under his thick eye lashes, I found myself gulping for breath.

He lifted his brow curiously at me, then looked at Vie. "You were concerned?"

"I'm honestly just happy she's back." She gushed, her eyes sparkling as she looked him over. Apparently, Jax was the only guy that could turn her straight. I grimaced and folded my legs up on the bed in front of me.

He gave her a swift nod, then slowly approached me. "What's with the hat? A beanie in a room that's like eighty degrees?" His brow was lifted again.

"I'm stylish that way." I muttered through clenched teeth.

"What happened tonight?" He asked, ignoring my attitude as he sat in the computer chair. He leaned forward, Resting his elbows on his knees, and his chin in his palm.

I ran through quickly what happened, leaving out the memory I had and a few other minor details. Such like the one about him loving me and brain washing me into loving him.

"So then nothing really?" He asked, looking to Vie. I shot her a glare which she cowered from. "Why am I here then?"

I kept my glare steady, her eyes were on the floor as she ran a hand through her hair. With a quick shifting of her eyes, she met his with all seriousness as she tugged on her hair a bit.

Before I could react, he had stood up and tugged my hat off, my hair piling down over my shoulders. I gasped, squeezing my eyes shut.

"Leave." My voice was firm as I glared at my best friend. Meanwhile I heard Jax swearing under his breath.

"I'm only trying to help-"

"I said go." My voice was cold, like acid seeping into her already shocked face. But with a whimper she left our dorm room.

"This." He said after a moment of silence. His face was hard, expressionless as he took me in. "Let me see your back."

"Are you crazy?" I shrieked.

"Your wings, they're coming. Maybe not today, but soon." He took a step back from me, grinding his teeth. "I shouldn't be here..." He took a long stride to ward the door, grabbing at the handle.

"did you really make me love you..?" I whispered, looking down at the tips of my hair that I twirled in between my fingers.

"What?" He whispered.

"Miracle said you brain washed me into loving you..." I breathed out an unamused chuckle. "That my feelings now- and always have been- fake. You put them there..." I squeezed my eyes shut to repress the memories of us together from such a long time ago.

He cussed under his breath again, "do you really believe that?"

I shrugged, "I don't know what to believe anymore."

I heard him take a step toward me, but he stopped before getting to close. "Miracle is a good kid. But he's also an angle who worked for your father. Your father lied about a lot of things to his angels. And even though Mike may be a rogue angel, he still bides in to what your father has told him."
