Y/N was walking down the hallway of his highschool. He woke up a bit late because he ignored his alarm a bunch of times, but he didn't bother hurrying to get in class. It isn't like he especially enjoyed his time at school, he was often a bullying target by his classmates, or older students. There was a specific bully group in his school, consisting of 12 people. Y/N didn't really remember their names. He didn't really care about the bullying as long as it didn't get physical. 'Imagine if they knew I'm fucking gay. Jeez' Y/N thought to himself, the thought not only making him cringe, but also making him rub his temples as he thought of all the possible scenarios. But then he finally reached his classroom, which made him snap out of his thoughts and sigh as he pushed the door open.

"Y/N. Late again, I see." His home room teacher said. He didn't remember his name either. It hadn't been long since the first semester started and it was the boy's first year in highschool, so that was his excuse. Not like he needed one, he didn't talk enough to people to have to find excuses for the times he would forget things. Well, except for when it came to his parents. God, that was the scariest part. Even scarier than the bullies at school. The only people that could get under the (h/c) male's skin was them.

"My apologies." Y/N said and sat down on his desk. He could hear a few giggles from behind him, some whispers here and there, along with some weird glances being shot at him. He dreaded this kind of attention, but there was nothing he could do about it. Not that he couldn't stand up for himself, he just didn't care enough. He cared about nothing anymore, or so he thought. Nothing felt interesting or exciting anymore. Anymore? It really felt like it had always been that way. After his best friend, Muichuro, left, at least. The few memories the boy could still recall from his childhood.

He decided to look left and right around the class to find something interesting to stare at, perhaps, but he just ended up staring out the window and at the clouds in the sky, thinking of when he would look at the clouds, or stargaze with Muichiro. Soon enough the bell rang and snapped him back into reality. He quickly got out of class and ran to the rooftop of the school building to lay down and look at the funny shapes the clouds had. He laughed when one looked like a penis - no he wasnt a very mature person, he was only 15 after all, so it was okay. 'Maybe Mui would find that funny too' God, he missed the younger boy so much it hurt. He had realised a while ago that he was actually into his friend, but never knew because of the lack of acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community from his family and internalised homophobia. A last sigh left his lips as a familiar bell-ringing noise was heard across the area where the building resides. The boy walked downstairs and back to class, avoiding any potential threats or trouble.

School hours went by pretty fast, mainly due to the fact Y/N barely paid any attention to any subject whatsoever, but when he was taking his books out of his locker and putting them back in his bag, a familiar group of people surrounded him, with a taller, older male with piercing red eyes grabbed onto the collar of the petite boy's uniform and pinned him against the lockers, Y/N's back hurting a lot from the impact, but he would never dare make it obvious to his bullies. "Sup, freak?" the man said lowly; it would have been incredibly intimidating if Y/N gave a fuck, but that wasn't the case here. "Sup, obsessive fucker?" Y/N spat out, earning a gut punch in response from the other guy, as he scoffed. It almost made the smaller man tear up, he knew he had do stay strong that moment.

Now you would be wondering, why doesn't he do anything? It's because he's severely outnumbered, plus one of them was an excellent martial artist, like himself, who had taken upon himself to get revenge for when Y/N won against him in a martial arts' tourney a while ago. Both boys had racked up a bunch of medals for their extraordinary techniques and skills. That fact was very concerning to Y/N, knowing very well that he would get beat into a pulp if he tried to defend himself, so he just stood there and took it. It hurt him on the inside, because he wasn't just the type to accept the humiliation and violence thrown at him, purely because he had to go through this at home already, which was awful as hell alone, he really didn't need any more bruises.

The two just stared at eachother for a while, the red-eyed one waiting for Y/N to say anything provocative enough to give him a reason to beat the boy up, but that didnt happen, as one of the teachers happened to pass by at just that moment. "Muzan ! (Y/N) ! What the hell is going on here ?!" The teacher yelled separating the two, and dragging the tall boy whose name is muzan apparently to the principal's office, the rest of his gang trailing behind him.

Y/N sighed in relief and immediately ran out of the building, and to his house, to be greeted by the usual fake smile his mother has whenever he comes back from school, only to interrogate him about his day, but today was different. "Go and pack your stuff in one of the boxes over there," the middle-aged woman said, mentioning him to some cardboard boxes. "make sure you don't leave anything out, because we are moving. Your father got transferred to a new job spot in a nearby city so we will be moving there.". When she finished talking Y/N was already running to his room with 4 big boxes in his arms and started packing his things. He was so excited and relieved he could go to a new school and start over. Then it struck him. 'Mui... What city did he move to again ? I can't remember..' Y/N felt so shitty for not remembering such an important information. He could recall everything about his best friend but that of all things ! He sighed, it isn't like it mattered. He wasn't going to see Muichiro ever again, it felt like. He suddenly felt a few tears rolling down his cheeks and landing on the wooden floor. It made him realise he stopped his packing so he went back to doing so.

His dad was a busy worker, he had talked about moving somewhere else at some point in the future but Y/N would have never guessed that TODAY would be the day he would abandon his hometown to live somewhere. It felt,, nostalgic. All his memories with Muichiro were made in that little town. Y/N isn't one to live in the past, but it still felt a bit wrong- in the good way.

It had been a few hours since they put their stuff into the moving truck and had been driving to the new apartment. It was nothing unusual for the boy as he had grown in an apartment for all of his life.

They had finally reached their destination, unpacked quickly and all of them laid in bed, as all of these activities were pretty exhausting, but Y/N still couldn't sleep. He wasn't thinking of anything, just felt overwhelmed by the sudden change of environment, but still was was pleased at the fact that he wouldn't have to deal with school bullies anymore, even if he wasn't certain people wouldn't start bullying him again for having no friends. He knew not to expect anything from anything, even the future, because everything could be taken away from you at any given point.

After a while of staying looking at the ceiling, a memory shot across the boy's mind. A cute one. Also very sad. It was of him and Muichiro hugging before he left. Normally every time he would try to recall the conversation between them that day he couldn't, but his brain felt generous enough to give him a few seconds of Muichiro's voice saying a sad goodbye and with that followed the voice of small Y/N saying "Will I ever see you again Mui?" to which he smiled brightly, in the softest and cutest way possible saying "Yes, I'll see you soon ! I dont know when soon is, but I'll make sure that day comes !". The small interaction making him feel euphoric.

As for now, he closed his eyes and managed to fall asleep. Tomorrow would be a new day. The day he would see his new school; Kimetsu Academy. A school with great reputation across the country, which made him a bit happy. Maybe his future wasn't completely in shambles, after all. He thought that maybe he would try socialising. He wasn't very good at doing so, but it was worth the try, he supposed. 'What if Mui studies there as well ?' The (h/c)-coloured Male thought last before drifting off to visit sweet dreamland where everything he ever wished for came right to him, instead of having to chase after it eternally.
