CHRISTOPHER WHITE WAS a kind man, he liked to see himself that way. Despite being a kook his whole life along with graduating Stanford Med second in his class, he never let any of that get to his head. Sure he was confident in his abilities, he had to be, he was a surgeon. Though he was never prejudiced against those who were seen as lesser than him, he had pogue friends along with his kook ones and he had married a pogue woman.

Even when he was a teenager, he wasn't ever subjected to peer pressure, but that also might be because he was seen as a 'nerd.' In high school, Christopher had never really been popular, he was never invited to parties, he never even had a girlfriend. His parents forced him to focus on school, and after that's finished, then he could live his life out the way he wanted.

He hated that.

Even though he was allowed to go midsummers and other gatherings, he was never allowed to hang out with friends. Whenever he was invited somewhere he would have to decline, his parents telling him that studying was most important, that his grades needed to stay in top shape.

So instead of making friends, Christopher was forced to shut everyone out. Spending his weekends and nights holed up in his room doing homework while having Star Wars playing in the background.

For most of his high school years it was like this: wake up, go to school, come home and do homework until he eventually fell asleep. His house never felt like home, his mother was a travelling actress while his father worked from home. Even though the man was home most of the time, he would barely speak three words to his son. It was draining, and soon enough Christopher's mental health began to drain also.

At the beginning of senior year, his motivation for everything had left him and all he wanted to do was sleep, he couldn't even enjoy watching Star Wars which was saying something. He stopped doing his homework, he stopped paying attention in school and his grades started dropping.

After months of feeling hopeless and alone, his father finally figured out Christopher's grades were dropping, asking the school for a tutor. So every Tuesday after school Christopher had to be tutored. At first he dreaded it, he didn't see the need for a tutor, all through high school his grades were top notch, now he couldn't seem to maintain a bit of information the teacher would tell him.

Soon enough he managed to get a grasp on reality, the only thing motivating him was the fact that he was graduating and he'd be well away from his parents to do whatever he wanted. Christopher was pretty sure that the day he left the outer banks was the best day of his life.

He got into a good university, his good grades and some strings pulled by his father were able to gain him a spot at Stanford. He knew that if he were to ever have children, they wouldn't be treated even remotely close to how he had been treated. He was going to give them the freedom they needed, no kid should be forced to be holed up in their house all of the time. If it was their choice to do that then he wouldn't mind, but never in his life would he do what was done to him.

He knew how horrible that felt.

This was why he decided to help Francine. Even though she wasn't his real daughter, she was family to him in a sense. At first he believed all the lies told to him by his wife, but about a year ago, he had started to find it suspicious after seeing he glance longingly at two pogue boys working at Midsummers.

Then when everything went down this summer he swore to help her, and later, when he confronted Katerina, she had lied to him, again.

It was dinner time, his wife was in her office, she hadn't even spoken to him since he arrived home. So, to distract himself from the weird feeling he got after walking into his home, he began cooking.

He knew that Katerina was overexaderating with the whole 'pogue' thing, she used to be a pogue so she shouldn't have much problem with them. That's what he thought when they got married, that's why he wanted to marry someone open minded, not really stuck on the whole pogue kook rivalry.
