Chapter 37

"What?! What are you doing here?" Izuku and I exclaimed as we both walked toward Nighteye's agency.

"Nighteye asked me to join him, so here I am."

"Of course," Izuku said. "I didn't even think about the fact that you knew him when you met All Might."

"Yeah, so why are you here?"

"Same as you."

"I'm surprised," I said.

"Nighteye doesn't seem to like me much, but I'm determined to get stronger!"

"I'm not surprised. Nighteye wanted someone else to be All Might's successor. It's kinda funny."

"How is it funny?!"

"Well, you're a lot like Nighteye. Green hair, super smart, All Might obsession. All Might chose you to be by his side, same as he did with Nighteye. The uh," I paused. "First candidate is a lot like All Might, which I think, is why Nighteye likes him."

"W-wow," Izuku muttered.

"Huh. Seems like you were destined to be All Might's successor." I shrugged and walked inside the agency.

"Alright. Now, we'll split up into two teams for patrols and surveillance. I'll be with Bubble Girl, Mirio you'll be with Midoriya and ___."

"Surveillance," Izuku said.

"Our agency is currently working on a secret investigation," Bubble Girl said.

"Shie Hassaiki is a small organized crime syndicate." Nighteye pulled out a picture. "That's Kai Chisaiki. He's the young second in command and he's been behaving strange recently. That plague mask is his trademark."

'Holy shit,' I thought. 'I know him.'

"Creepy," Izuku said. "I thought there wasn't much trouble with organized crime these days since the police know who they are, and monitor them."

"It's been that way since the big groups broke up, but this Chisaiki guy has been acting strange. Word on the street is that they made contact with the league of villains recently."

My thoughts ran wild at that moment, completely tuning out what they were saying around me.

The league? What does Shiggy want with him? I didn't think he would ever associate with him after-

"____!" Nighteye said, snapping me out of my trance.

"Huh?"

"Is there something you want to say?" He said.

"You think I know something?" I said with a scoff. "What? Since I'm the villain kid I MUST have my ears to the street? I should know-"

"You zoned out," Nighteye interrupted. "In deep thought, I'm assuming. If you know anything from back then that could help, tell me."

"I will, but there's nothing. I just wasn't paying attention."

"Fine, then. Go on ahead for your patrols."

"Those two are from the UA sports festival!"

"This is kinda nerve wracking," Izuku said.

I chuckled. "How?"

"Yeah, what gives?" Mirio said. "You went on patrols in your internship didn't you?"
