The room was quiet, not only for Regulus but the intire hospital wing was wrapped in a gut wrenching silence. As if the intire world got put on mute.
"....what?" James whispered.
"yeah, the womping willow crushed his intire ear system." Sirius looking at the younger boy. The overwhelming rage he felt for Mulciber at that moment. He deserved his own cell in Azkaban for how he ruined Regulus' life, "And all he got was expulsion." Sirius grunted, angrily.
"What?" Peter asked, to have Sirius speak up so they could hear.
"all," he took a deep breath to keep himself from screaming. "all Mulciber got... was expulsion." he said, now very clearly.
"Are you serious?" the word would have, in any other situation, made Sirius chuckle or at least smirk. But he didnt give it any second thoughts this time.
"I wish i wasn't." Sirius was so angry, he wanted to punch something, break something.
The other three looked angry as well. But before anything else was said, there was another ruffling of the curtains surrounding the bed. It was madam Pomfrey.
"hey." she said and waved for Regulus' attention. She handed him a small, rectangular case.
Regulus took it and smiled the kind of smile you smile when someone did something for you that you wish they didnt have too.
"Thanks.." he whispered.
But she didn't leave, she was looking pointedly at him. He bit his lip, "fine" he sighed and opened the rectangular case in his hands.
He picked up what it contained, and put it on.
Regulus was breathing oddly under all the eyes as he put on the rectangular glasses, they fit perfectly on his face.
"How are they?" Poppy raised her eyebrows slightly. Regulus looked at her as she realized her mistake. "oh, of course, sorry." she muttered even though he definitely couldn't hear that either.
Regulus nodded stiffly at her and did a small thumbs up. The thumbs up was not appropriate at all. He'd just lost his hearing forever. And the gesture seemed everything but that.
Regulus looked towards sirius as the others left to not seem intrusive or anything. "I'm sorry." he whispered.
Sirius looked at him as if he was crazy. "no im sorry." he argued. "fuck." he muttered and grabbed the paper again.
"That's just it." Regulus said.
What do you mean? Sirius wrote.
Regulus read the words a lot faster with the glasses. "I mean...that talking to me is gonna be so weird now." Regulus hugged his arm, insecure.
"You dont have to learn BSL just for me...-» Regulus said, but sirius heard how he truly did not mean a sigle word of it. He obviously wanted to be able to speak to his brother without having to read the words sirius wrote to him.
Sirius started stammering, "wa- wh- you - i dont- what..."
Are you crazy? Of cource i will!
"I love you Sirius." Regulus whispered with new tears in his eyes. "I Love you too." Sirius mouthed.
