Why me?

Remus had actually been to great help.

Now, sirius could keep a minor conversation. 

That is, if the person he's signing against know the same amount of signs as him. Thats where he got unsure, he didn't want to try talk to regulus.

Because then, regulus would probably know more that him, and maybe he'd think that sirius hadn't put actual effort into learning.

But sirius knew that if he dint visit regulus, his brother would think that he abandoned him or something.

That says it then, he'd visit after class, and try to use what remus had taught him.

That had been sat on sirius' bed, face-to-face with the books on the bed between them.

Remus would show him the signs, and sirius would try to copy them.

Remus had taken his hand and formed his fingers the right way. At some point during this, sirius had stopped paying attention to remus' signing, and was just staring at his lips.

Remus has a habit of sticking his tongue between his teeth when he was concentrating. And every time sirius did the sign right, he hummed lightly. 

"Earth to sirius" Sirius heard in his ear. He startled and looked around.  "Hm?" He said and looked over at James.  "Class i over." He said. "Oh." Sirius muttered and started packing up his things, including the completely empty parchment that he was supposed to write his notes on.

He'd beed resting his eyes on the back of remus' head as he was taking notes.

Sirius sighed, and followed the others out of the clasroom.

"Hey" regulus' smile grew ten times when sirius came into the hospital wing. Madam pomfrey had let him open his curtains when he wanted, so they were pulled to the side in a way that made regulus see sirius the second he came into the room.

Sirius said hi first, but then he waved, trying to play it of. Regulus noticed though. Such a small thing, but his face fell in the slightest when he saw. 

Guess what. Sirius signed.

What is it? Regulus signed back.

R is helping me. 

He is good. Sirius added when he saw regulus' confused face. Sirius didnt know how to sign he is good because his sister is deaf as well.

Most people didn't even know of remus' sister, she's a muggle.

Regulus nodded, he sighed.

Sirius looked at him in question. 

"Y'know, i-i do miss it... sometimes." Regulus said, fidgeting with his fingernails.

Sirius took out a notebook from his bag, this conversation seemed quite far out of his signing-league.

Thats understandable. He wrote.

"I just kinda get the feeling sometimes that, maybe if i had just stayed quiet then none of this would happen." Regulus' voice was now a barely noticeable whisper.

Sirius felt a pang of guilt through his guts.

Those slitherins had only done this because Regulus had defended sirius.

It was sirius' fault.

Sirius' breathing was spreading up, "i know it sounds stupid, but I can help but think why me?" Regulus continued, not hearing sirius' panic.

Tears started welling up in sirius' eyes and his breathing was going quicker and quicker.

"Sirius?" Regulus now noticed the odd breathing of his older brother.

Regulus could see sirius' mouth moving, as if he was muttering something under his breath repeatedly.

"M-madam pomfrey!" Regulus yelled,  "what's going on sirius?" Regulus was scared.

Regulus was crying by the time the woman got to them. What is it? She signed.

Regulus pointed to sirius, who was currently on the floor leaning against the wall while trying to calm his breathing. But to no avail.

"Oh my." Poppy breathed. And rushed to help. At first, she tried to place a hand on sirius' shoulder, but sirius flinched away. 

"What is wrong, boy?" She asked, trying to remain calm.

She noticed the muttering, "its my fault, its my fault , its my fault.." he muttered over and over again.
