⊱ ─ Eden Hall ─ ⊰

Daisy smiled as she skated along next to Charlie, Averman leading them down the path towards Eden Hall, or so they hoped. "Averman, where the hell are we going?" Guy asked. "Turn right!" Averman shouted. Everyone made the right turn while Goldberg continued straight ahead. "I'm a goalie, not a skater!" Goldberg called out before he went off the trail with Charlie following behind him. Daisy shook her head, "Oh Goldberg..." The others laughed as they continued skating.

Once they skated underneath a bridge, Charlie and Goldberg fell from the top of it and landed with the team making the others cheer. "Goldberg, don't you ever do that to me again!" Charlie breathed out before skating up next to Daisy and grabbing her hand. "Did you have fun?" Daisy teased making him smirk at her. He pulled her closer to him and swiftly kissed her, Daisy giggled lightly as the others mocked them. "This year is gonna be great!" Daisy cheered as she and Charlie swung their arms, both with wide smiles on their faces.

The Ducks finally made it to the school, skating past a group of people and horses. "Just on time!" Charlie said making Daisy laugh. "For us Ducks at least," Daisy added making Charlie wink at her before they all followed Charlie into a door. They were backstage, skating until Goldberg fell tearing the curtain down causing it to cover the group of children who fell to the ground. They pulled the curtain off of themselves and turned to the large crowd of students, Daisy locked eyes with the other Ducks and bit her lip to stop herself from laughing.

"Hi, we're the Ducks," Charlie introduced hesitantly as the crowd laughed. Charlie helped Daisy up off of the ground where she locked eyes with one of the boys in the crowd, he smirked before winking at her. Charlie watched the interaction, Daisy looked down slightly as she didn't expect it. Unfortunately to Charlie, it looked bad and he was not happy. Daisy looked over to Charlie noticing the slight scowl on his face, she tried to grab his hand but he stepped away and followed after the others, leaving her confused. And let's just say, they were not having a great start to the new year.

"Charlie, man... This is not a good start to our year," Kenny stated as they all stood around in an office waiting for the Dean to arrive. "Don't worry, Kenny. These prepsters aren't gonna do anything to us," Charlie assured him before glancing over to Daisy who was standing with Jesse and Averman. "Check it out, antsville," Charlie pointed out as he walked towards the case of ants. The teenagers made their way over to the ants and watched as they wandered around, whereas Daisy was looking glumly towards Charlie after realising that he clearly saw her response to the random wink.

Daisy knew that Charlie was acting jealous but she didn't understand why, she was happy with Charlie and no one else mattered to her like that. She knew that she had to talk to him, she just hoped that he doesn't act stubborn like he usually does. "You can learn a lot from ants," Dean Buckley said suddenly, startling the teenagers. "These Brazilian fire ants can teach you a lot about successful, societal structure. You see, there's a Queen in there, and the rest are dedicated worker ants. Everybody pulls their weight, nobody complains," Dean Buckley explained with an overly cheery smile.

Julie and Daisy smirked at each other before turning back to Dean Buckley as he continued, "There's harmony and growth. Same here at Eden Hall, only you are the workers, the backbone." Russ smiled as he jokingly commented, "And you're the Queen?" The others snickered quietly. Dean Buckley smiled at Russ with a slight nod. "He's a bit cheery, isn't he?" Daisy whispered to Julie as Dean Buckley continued explaining the school rules to them. "Yeah. Whatever he had for breakfast, we need to give to Charlie. What's up with you two?" Julie asked. Daisy looked over at Charlie before sighing, "Leave that to me..."

"Every Monday, you will have a practice quiz. Every Wednesday, you will have a real quiz. Every Friday, you will have an exam, and anytime I feel like, you'll have a surprise quiz," The teacher spoke making the Ducks all look at each other. It was gonna be a long year at Eden Hall. Guy and Daisy looked at each other with wide eyes before the two of them faked their deaths mockingly, face-planting their desks making the others laugh under their breaths. They high-fived each other as the teacher glared at the two of them.

"It's been said... that the present is to the past... like a dwarf... on the shoulders of a giant. If the dwarf holds his seat, he can, indeed, see further than the giant. But beware, if the dwarf should grow careless... and forget his place," The history teacher rambled sternly. He placed the dwarf toy onto Fulton's desk before slamming the book on the dwarf. "History... is a giant. Get ready to ride," He finished off. Fulton looked to Charlie then Daisy who laughed quietly as she shook her head.

After class, Daisy was walking with Charlie, Averman, Fulton, Goldberg, Adam, Guy and Connie. They watched as Luis was shoved into the lockers before a group of jocks stole Kenny's lunch and shoved him away. "Homework on the first day. Man, I don't believe it," Averman said. "We better be careful or we're gonna learn something here," Goldberg said as Daisy sighed. "This is gonna be a very interesting year," Daisy said as they continued walking down the hall.

Charlie was walking when he was stopped, "Hi. Uh, will you sign a petition?" Charlie looked at the girl standing there and went silent. The girl laughed slightly as Charlie cleared his throat, "Uh, yeah, sure. What's it for?" The girl smiled before she began explaining, "We're demanding the board change the demeaning Warrior name." Daisy turned the corner with Connie and spotted Charlie talking with the girl. "Who is that?" Connie asked as Daisy took a deep breath. "I'm sure they're just talking," Daisy spoke unsurely.

Connie looked at Daisy as Guy and Averman walked up to them. "Who is that chick talking to Charlie? He seems pretty interested," Averman spoke without thinking. Daisy looked down slightly as Guy and Connie turned to Averman with glares. "I-I m-mean... I'm sure it's nothing... you know, just a random encount-" Averman tried to cover only for Guy to shake his head and push him away. "Just ignore Averman. As you said, I'm sure they're just talking," Connie assured.

Charlie smiled at the girl, "Well, Warriors isn't so bad, is it?" She raised her brows at him. "I mean, you got the Indians, the Braves, the Redskins, the Blackhawks," Charlie spoke making her roll her eyes. "You're a jock, aren't you?" She asked him. "Yeah, I play hockey. In fact, I'm the captain of the new J.V. team," Charlie Spoke pridefully. "Forget about it," She responded sassily, "All you Warrior jocks stick together." Charlie was taken aback, "But I'm not a Warrior, I'm a Duck." She turned away from Charlie and asked someone else. Daisy looked down as she walked away, her heart ached in jealously for the first time ever.
