Percy POV

I was more than thrilled when all my friends got permission from their parents to spend a day in Montauk. My mom used to take me there all the time when I was small, in some weird way I felt the closest to my father whenever I visited the place.

I had invited my group of friends along with Annabeth, Thalia, Piper, and Leo.

All of us were excited to get there, my friends were exhilarated when I told them about the deal my mum made with the record label and wanted to celebrate as much as I did, I had told Piper, Leo, and Annabeth that we were going just for a change of scenery and to get our mind off of Luke or now referred to as the L-word.

Oh, I forgot to fill you in that as soon as Zeus found out about Luke trying to get sensitive information about his company through his children he and some of the other parents filed an FIR. Annabeth and Thalia protested but eventually, Thalia quit, unfortunately, Annabeth did not.

I don't get why they were trying to defend the guy even after how much he hurt them. I was even mad at Annabeth for that because I had seen firsthand how much pain she had been in. When I confronted her about it, we had a full-on fight, I am talking a lot of colorful words used fight, not some childish bickering fight we always get in. The fight resulted in two weeks of not talking to each other, two weeks of postponing the plan of Montauk because of not wanting to go there without her, making the swim team in the process, and then she coming to my first swim meet to congratulate me, both of us blurting out apologies and then I telling her about Montauk to make up for the fight.

Luke had thankfully stayed true to his word, he hadn't told on me...yet.

And no my conflicting opinion was still well, conflicting.

We had rented a bus for the occasion, my bodyguard Terminus was driving the bus, he was going to be there with us for my safety but they didn't need to know that. For them, he was just the nosy bus driver.

The ride to our destination was chaotic, to say the least.

Reyna and Annabeth were arguing about who's better at judo flipping ( seriously?), Frank and Jason were arm wrestling( in a moving bus), Nico was their referee. P.S Jason was losing badly. Leo and Hazel were telling Piper about their experience with a group of annoyingly obnoxious girls( their words not mine), whilst I was sitting silently gazing out of the window and probably for the first time truly appreciating life.

I sound like an 80-year-old philosopher don't I? Ok no need to answer that and lower my morale, I'll stop now.

'What are you thinking?' Annabeth asked

I turned my attention to her from the window. She was wearing an orange tank top and shorts, the outfit which she usually wears. I didn't mind though, she looked beautiful in it. Her blonde hair was down today which was unusual, showcasing her pretty princess curls.

She snapped her fingers in front of me,  'You there?' She asked. 'Or are you still mad at me and have decided on giving me a silent treatment?'

' I thought you were busy boasting about your judo flipping skills.' I smirked

' You want a demo?' She asked

'I'll pass.' I immediately replied

She laughed. 'It's nice to know you are scared of me.'

'Me, scared of you?' I scoffed, 'As if.'

'Deny it all you want.' She replied confidently

'You should be the one scared of me. We are going to a beach, meaning my territory.' I said cockily
