Chapter 13

The loud beat does not bother Nathan that much. The club seems to be alive as usual. It's been his fourth night being in that gay club. Right after his shift ended, he will go there alone. There's just too much pressure out there. He feels like the loud and crown make him forget about what happened with his life.

They're not breaking up. There's no relationship, to begin with. Then why the hell does he feel worst? Is Nadeem feeling the same? Is the pain equal? Nathan is sure he's the only one feeling it. He's hooking up with a married man. He went crazy for his sister's boss.

The alcohol seems to be slow to work for him. He doesn't even remember how many shots that been taken. For all he cares, he just wants to forget. He just wants everything to go away from him. The pain, Nadeem, crave, and feelings. Everything that fuck with him.

"Another rough night?"

Nathan did not even bother to look at the person. He's too tired to have someone try to flirt with him as usual.

"It's been four days. It seems like you need to let it out of your chest."

Nathan turns to look at the person. He expected someone who look like a fuckboy. But instead, it's someone decent. A boy is probably younger than him sitting there with an innocent smile.

"A break-up?" He raises his brow.

Nathan snorts. "Nahh... Just losing a fuck buddy."

The boy blinks then nods. "But it looks like there's more there. You look like you're in pain."

Nathan let out a small chuckle. "Just a fuck buddy."

The boy laughs. "Alright. If you say so. You could always find another one. It's replacing isn't it?"

Is it replacing? Is Nadeem replaceable? He couldn't answer that. But deep down, he definitely has the answer.

"Want to replace him?"

The boy widens his eyes but then break into a smile shortly after. "I don't swing that way. But, thanks. It's an honour to receive the offer."

"Not swing that way? You're straight?" Nathan raises his brow.

"No, no, no. I mean... The fuck buddy thing..."

Nathan laughs again. "What's your name?"

"Greyson."

"Greyson," Nathan repeated. "I'm Nathan."

"You're not regular here aren't you?" Greyson asked.

Nathan looked around the place then shrug. "I just need a new hunting place. The old one is already outdated,"

Greyson laughs at the statement. The truth is Nathan doesn't want to hang out where he and Nadeem started everything. Besides, he's still afraid to come across the man there. So, he goes to this club. A little bit over around his area.

"I've seen you for four days straight with the same routine. That's why I'm curious." Greyson said. He seems to be fully sober. It's like it's his first time there. But clearly, it doesn't.

"Four days?" Nathan raises his brow. That's how long he was there. "Are you regular here?"

Greyson just smiles innocently. "I'm a part-time worker here. But my shift already ended 3 hours ago. I'm usually just hangout to kill time. If nothing caught my eyes, I'm going straight home."

Did nothing catch his eyes? So, is Nathan caught his eyes?

"You should tone it down a little."

Nathan looks at Greyson again. The boy's face shows nothing but concern. And for the first time, Nathan feels at ease. "Tone what down?"

"The drinking," Greyson answered honestly. "No one deserves to take away your health. You should value it more."

Nathan almost coughing. He frowns a little watching Greyson's feature. "How old are you, Greyson?"

"I'm 20."

"20?!" Nathan widens his eyes. Not that he's surprised how young the boy is since he expected it. "You're still in college?"

Greyson nods. "I'm a college student."

That's what shocked Nathan. That Greyson should be a college student. But being a part-timer is a normal thing for them. And the fact that he's been lectured by a college student make him feel a little ashamed.

"I want to accompany you a little longer but I have class early tomorrow morning," Greyson told him.

Nathan smiles. For the first time, he could make a genuine smile. "You should go home."

Greyson nods. "If you're gonna be here tomorrow then we'll meet again. I just hope you're not having too much drink at the time."

Nathan laughs. "No promises."

Greyson laughs along with him. "See you again, Nathan."

"See you again, Greyson."

Nathan glance at Natalie. The girl calmly sits on the dining table reading a newspaper drinking hot tea. She notices Nathan come to the kitchen and only mumbles a soft good morning greeting. The girl goes to work early for these past few days and come back late than usual.

"Early again today?"

Natalie nods. "I think we will be for a few more weeks."

Nathan frown a bit. "Why? Did something happen to you?"

"No." Natalie shake her head. "But I think... We think something happens to my boss."

Nathan almost freezes on his track. Her boss? Nadeem. "Why? What happened?"

Natalie takes a deep breath. "We don't even know actually. But he's changed. Like... He became a beast."

"A beast?"

Natalie nods. "He dug every mistake we did for these past months and push us to make it right. He snaps easily. He screams. More likely. He became a mess."

Nathan blinks. He's not sure what to say or to react. Is Nadeem became like that because of him? Because of what happens? He's happy. Because now he knows he's not the only one that feels miserable. But then, he feels concerned. He couldn't help but worry about the man.

"He's married right?" Nathan is not sure why he asked that out of the blue now even though that person already admitted it.

"Yeah. We saw his wife a few times before... And now."

Nathan frown. There are too many questions he wants to ask.

"I think his wife is one of the reasons he became like that," Natalie said while thinking.

"Why is that?"

"From what I know they're not on good terms before."

"What?" Nathan widens his eyes.

"We thought they're already separated. We were sure that they're gonna get a divorce." Natalie continued. "But now... His wife goes to his office almost every day. So, we're not sure anymore."

What is happening? Is there more story for that? Is Nadeem going through a divorce process while he messed around with him? One thing is for sure, Nathan was a rebound.

I managed to update. Thank you for your support about my break-up. But, it's actually my decision in the first place. The relationship didn't work out. And I still love him dearly. I just want him to go free. Anyway, enjoy the story. I will do my best to update again.

Love, D
