A month has passed since everything goes down. It feels like everything just goes back from the beginning. Like things never happen. At this rate, Nathan is sure that the boss truly gives up on them. No news, not even his name was ever mentioned in his life, just like there was never 'them' before.

At first, Nathan thought this would be better. He still got Greyson even though, so far, that boy still could not make him feel anything. However, the more he lives his life like usual, the more 'alone' he feels. He knows this because the only thing that makes his life different from usual is Nadeem.

The boss is probably living a beautiful life with his wife. The wife that Nathan never expects to exist. However, when he thinks about it, he knows his life was too good to be true. Until now, he still wishes that Nadeem would regret ever leaving him. He wishes he could throw the life he lost on the boss' face. Sadly, he knows nothing could ever beat what they have.

"Fu—" Nathan covers his mouth when he realizes he bumps into a kid. He knows he has a sassy personality. However, he still respects everyone and knows what is better for them.

It is a little girl around seven years old. There are tears in her eyes. Her lips are trembling when she looks up at the guy.

"Wait—" Nathan looks around to look for anyone who could possibly be this girl's parents. Since no one could be the person he was looking for, he kneeled down to have a better look at the little one. "Are you lost, kitten?"

The girl seems to have no response to that question. However, when she starts crying a little, Nathan knows what the answer is.

"It's all right. Let's..." Nathan turned to look at the store he was just walking out from. Brendon is still wandering around to find what he is looking for. He turns to look at the girl again. "We should go to the help center. Can you describe your mom?"

No response. The girl just stares at him with teary eyes. So, Nathan decides to hold her hand and start walking. He hoped along the way someone could shout at him and tell him that the girl was their daughter. However, for now, his mission is to find the help center to ask for help.

Thank God the girl only cries in silence. Moreover, she did not throw tantrums like any other annoying kid. He got so many questions to ask. Nevertheless, since he never gets any response, he decides just to keep it in.

"God!" Nathan stops for a while to look around. He feels like he got lost himself. He is unsure whether he regrets trying to be a hero for once or not. He wants to let the girl go to someone to get better help, but the grip on his hand makes him keep wanting to help.

"Scarlet!!"

"Papa!!"

And that is the first time Nathan ever heard the girl's voice. He turns around when his hand is free just to watch the little girl run towards his father. However, the beautiful sight turns shocking instantly when he locks eyes with none other than Nadeem Valentino. The boss hugged his daughter tightly, but he did notice Nathan standing there.

"Where have you been?!" Nadeem scolds the little girl. "You should not have to wander around like that."

"Sorry," she mumbles.

Nathan, on the other hand, is too stunned to do anything. He does not know what made him speechless—seeing Nadeem again after a long time or knowing about the boss having a daughter.

"He helps me." Scarlet points at Nathan. "You should treat him to an ice cream, pa."

Nathan blinks a little. He almost could not hear anything they talked about. "Oh, no. No need."
