The bell rang for the end of class. "Hey Liberty, c'mon, that was the bell. Are you ok to go now, or would you like some more time?" Lilith hugs her cousin, comforting her.

Liberty takes a deep breath. “I think so. Thanks.” They both let go of each other, walking out of the stall, then immediately sprinting to their classes.

Lilith makes it seconds before the bell rings. She quickly spots Kelly drinking an energy drink and sits next to her. “Hey, babe. Did I miss anything?” She sounds incredibly out of breath.

Kelly looks up and shakes her head. “Is Liberty ok? I couldn’t sleep last night because you were on my mind. Also, I bought an energy drink from the vending machine. I’m exhausted, and I do not want to doze off.” She lets out a yawn and takes another sip of the substance.

Lilith nods in understanding. “After I talked to her, she calmed down. Also, just a reminder, lunch is after this period~” She smirks at her knowing this will get a reaction out of her.

Kelly is half asleep and squirms slightly in her seat. She looks up at her and lets out a slight whine. “Babeeee, don’t do this to me.”

She smiles. “I’m just reminding you. I love you.” The classroom door opens to reveal Ashley and Liberty walking in. They both sit at opposite ends of the room.

The teacher gets up from her seat, walking to the front of the class. First, I’ll do attendance, and then I’ll tell you who your partners are for the first assignment.”

After she goes through the class roster, She turns to another page. “Alright, your partners for the year. Lilith, you will be partnered up with Kelly. You two are already sitting next to each other, so that makes my job a little easier. Jax and Alex, Ashley and Liberty.” She finishes going through the list. 

At Green Creek High.

Alina, Souta, Dell, Dmitri, Emery, Darby, and Don are all sitting in class, also going through roll call. 

The teacher clears his throat. “Alright, now we will be getting into partners. These groups will be your groups for the entire year, and I will not change them, so suck it up and deal with it if you don’t like them.”

Souta looks over at Alina and re realizes that she’s asleep, but her eyes are open. “Oh Alina, you sweet thing.” He sighs.

 "Alright listen up! Souta and Alina, you will sit at the front corner table. Next to them will be Dell and Dmitri, Don at the back table, and finally Emery and Jake." 

Darby speaks up to correct him. "Uh s-sir, I go by Darby." She is timid.

The teacher glares at him. "Well, I’m not seeing a Darby. I see a Jake on the roster, and I go by the roster. Stay quiet." Darby saddens and just puts her head down. After the teacher goes through the rest of the seating chart and lets everyone chat the rest of the period.

At Phoenix drop high

Ashley walks over to Liberty, immensely nervous. She struggles to try and start a conversation, so Liberty takes over. 

Liberty looks up at her and softly smiles. "Hi, Ashley." 

"h-hi…" she responded shyly, her cheeks dusted pink. 

Liberty rubs her sweaty palms on her pants."So I guess we're partners for the year?" 

"y-yeah." Ashley looks down, kicking her legs, highly anxious. She takes a deep breath and speaks again. "Liberty, I’m sorry, I’m just really nervous. I don’t do well in public settings."
