Y/N sits in the corner of her apartment. She can't fall asleep, she has these dreams of red, just red with pain. It's been going on since the hospital. She also hears a voice, but she can't recognize it. It was a soft voice, so calm and caring. She can't remember anything. It was all such a blur, she just remembers the pain.
She looks down at the bottle in her lap, and gulps down the rest. Stumbling to the kitchen of her tiny apartment, she grabs a bottle of ibuprofen and a bottle of water, just to lay on the couch. The TV was on in the back, the news talking. Y/N stared up at the ceiling. Just trying to understand what happened.
"After you got off the plane, you went onto one of the vehicles, and your vehicle was one of the 3 that was blown. But yours, it rolled down, and everyone in the vehicle was fine, but you went missing. Do you have memory of anything that went on?" There were so many officers, and people in suits, and military men. There were three doctors crowding her, all checking vitals or stitches.
"I don't- I can't, I'm sorry, I can't." She tries to think, soon her heart begins to race, her breath getting more and more heavy.
There were even photographers. Every five seconds there were flashes, and reporters. It was all too much for Y/N. The doctors cover her mouth, trying to help her breathe, she closed her eyes, hoping everyone would just disappear into nothing. Trying to find a happy place.
In her mind, she felt a warm embrace. It was calming to her. It felt familiar. It was safe, there it felt like there wasn't a crowd. Just her and that person, just the feeling of their warmth, it made everything feel better. Like there were no cuts anywhere, like she didn't feel like an object for the press. It was a home feeling.
"You're crowding her, everyone needs to get out!" Darcy pushed past everyone in her way. All of them proceeding out the door as Darcy looks to Y/N, with a smile as big as can be. She hugged Y/N, but it wasn't like the hug in the safe place. "I'm happy you're safe."
"Do you know what happened to me?" Y/N asked, the oxygen mask muffling the words.
With slight hesitation, Darcy shook her head, despite knowing about Wanda and in the house raid. She put her hand on Y/N's face, caressing it a little.
Y/N dropped the bottle and water on the floor, remembering everything that went on with Darcy. The freak outs, Y/N tried her best to be there with her condition, but there was so much going on, but she put effort into their relationship, considering Darcy was the only one there for her.
She hears the TV talk about her. She slightly looks over at the TV, and there was a girl. The girl was so familiar, but still looked away. It was all a blur.
The apartment was a mess. Bottles of water and alcohol scattered around. Being told the condition she was found was traumatizing. She couldn't even look at herself in the face. There were cuts and open wounds on her face to her legs. She was beaten, but by who? She's fine now but she couldn't help but wonder who did that to her, and why she couldn't remember. It was forever killing her. The alcohol kept her from feeling anything.
Then she was out.
But the loud bangs on her door woke her up. "God, give me a minute!" Y/N checked her phone to see the time. 5 AM... She hurries to clean up the bottles to make it look decent enough. She goes to the door, looking through the peep hole. She opened the door, and Darcy was there.
"Coffee?" Darcy made her way into the apartment with 2 cups of coffee, sighing a little. "I know I am here way early than I need to be but I wasn't expecting this much of a mess. Is it always like this?" Darcy gives a playful type of glance to Y/N.
"I wasn't expecting you to come so early. I would've cleaned up a bit." Y/N smiles a little, starts to put stuff away and throw away some trash. Darcy decides to help a little.
"I know you are struggling a bit alone, so I was wondering, maybe you want to move in with me for a while? Or I can move in with you? I'm really okay with anything I just want to help you while you're in this sort of-" Y/N gives her a look, that usually gets her to stop talk. Darcy gives a small smile and chuckle. "I just want to help you, and I don't want you going through the amnesia and PTSD all alone." Darcy sits on the couch, and Y/N sits right next to her, putting her head on Darcy's shoulder. With a small sigh, she closes her eyes.
"I love everything you do for me, especially coming here every time you can. I just don't want you to stop your life for me."
"I'm not stopping my life, I just want to be here when you need me. I don't want to be too far or too late if something happens to you." Darcy holds her hand, making Y/N smile a little.
"I'm really glad I have you to help. Thank you. And I don't know how much I am onboard with living with another person right now, but staying the night some nights would be amazing." Darcy smiles and nods. Grabbing her cup of coffee and giving Y/N hers.
They sit with each other on the couch, both comfortable with each other. They had become closer by default, having Darcy be the only one there for her at the moment. It didn't matter to them though, they're just happy to have each other.
