"Thank you, Vinnie. For everything tonight." Bella mumbled, the smile never leaving her lips. I match her grin, kissing her cheek. "Of course, pretty girl. You deserve nothing less." Her smile widens at my words, her arms looping around my neck and mine staying in their place on her waist. Her dress hugs her curves in the best way, we're drunk on happiness.
I haven't been this happy in years, her presence being enough to spark warmth in me. Her fingers knot in the curls at the nape of my neck, she steps on the tips of her toes, reaching up to kiss me. Music plays softly in the background, our friends long gone. We're in the kitchen, looking at each other like couples do in romance movies. The lyrics to The Neighbourhood's "You Get Me So High" filling the silence between us.
"If we can leave it all behind us, and meet in-between. It would get me so, high all the time." She sings the lyrics to me very softly, as if she was afraid to break the silence. I sway with her back and forth, and she laughs lightly. "I wanna be high all the time, would you come with me?" Her smile continues to spread across her face, looking up at me. "Happy 2 months, baby." She kisses me, again and again and one more time. "Happy 2 months, my pretty girl."
