Vinnie's has rested between my thighs as we watched the movie play on the screen in front of us. My hand was in his hair, my fingers sifting through the mop of curls. His hands were on my thighs beside his hand, smoothing over the bare skin.
We expected a calm and easy night. So the hard knock at the door startled us. We both turned our heads, before his head looked up at me. "I'll get it." He murmured, getting up and pausing the movie. I heard muttered voices when the door opened. "Look I don't think she'll want that right now." I heard Vinnie whisper. "Or just come in, alright." I turned my head, my mood being ruined by Dixie. She wasn't facing me though, she was taking deep breaths.
When she turned around, I didn't feel so angry anymore. "I believe you, Bella." Her voice was broken and cracked in places. My heart dropped and her tears, her face all blotchy and red. "I should've believed you, I shouldn't have said all those things... I'm s-sorry Bella. I'm... so.. so sorry." She sobbed. I got up moving towards her.
"Hey, hey it's okay. I forgive you, it's okay." I wrapped my arms around her, feeling her go limp and sob into my shoulder. "What made you believe me?" I asked cautiously. She pulled back, sniffling as she handed me the envelope, sloppy handwriting on the front.
Bella.
"What is this?" I asked confused, I looked up at her for and answer. "I thought it was from you to him, so... so I opened it. But he wrote it to you, and I found it and read it." Her voice wobbled, getting shaky again. "Read it, Bella. But don't believe. He's said those things to me before and it took me forever to realize he didn't mean it. I'm done with him." She said more confidently. I unfolded the letter inside, reading it.
