Saving them

After our little moment the other night we hadn't really talked to one another for the past two days.

It's currently 3am and I'm sitting up in Asher's bed with him asleep beside me, the baby was kicking away unable to sleep as well.

I began to hum softly and slowly rock side to side hoping to put the poor baby to sleep.

"Can't sleep?" Asked Asher letting me know he's awake.

"Sorry if we woke you I'm just trying to get this little one back to sleep. But it's proving difficult." I say with a sigh still rocking side to side.

"It's no problem." He replied sitting up as well turning to look at me.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked quietly. I see him nod out the corner of my eye.

"Have your feelings changed in these last years?" I asked closing my eyes at the feeling of a hard kick.

"No, has yours?" He asked quietly putting his hand where the kicks were occurring rubbing the spot making everything feel better.

I looked at my hands debating on what to say.

Flashback

Asher and I were laying on my bunk where we were saying our goodbyes before I leave and return home tomorrow.

"Ash please come home with me" I asked one last time before looking over at him he was clean shaved and his hair cut was clean and neatly pushed back.

"I want to but I wanna be here to help I'm sorry can't come back with you L but my purpose is here." He said looking at me with sadness in his eyes.

"L can I tell you something?" He asked seeming nervous.

"Of course Ash." I told him sitting up on my elbow to look at him better.

"I. I'm in love with you Logan Skye you have had my heart since the second grade. You are the only girl for me L. Please say you love me back." He said sitting all the way run and looking down at the floor.

"Ash, why didn't you tell me sooner?" I asked softly unsure of how to respond.

Instead of replying he kissed me. That night we lost ourselves to each other but the next morning I left, I left him there asleep not saying a word but leaving a note explaining it all.

"I explained it all in my note but you never showed I thought you had changed your mind." I say looking at him.

"I never read it I put it up unsure if I wanted to since you were gone that morning." He replied. I started laughing at my stupidity how could I have not known.

"

Do you still have it?" I ask and he nodded.

"Read it now it will explain everything Ash." I tell him he looked at me with a confused look.

He got up and went to the closet grabbing a box and coming back to the bed and sitting at the end and opening the note.

I watched his face go from confused to realization.
